because the people paying jizyah aren't Muslim. That's the only difference theoretically.

Also the purpose that they were used for.

Again, jizyah is not supposed to be oppressive.

This means we can use the word, just not in a bad way. So don't punish anyone who uses kafir.

That's admirable on paper, yet iirc the quran then goes onto give non-believers dhimmi status in majority Muslim nations, which basically means they're second class citizens.

See, but again, there's nothing to back up the assertion that the tax would be more. There's nothing requiring or even saying that the jizyah should be more than the zakat.

Why would they have a different tax code if it was the same amount?

Why would they have a different tax code if it was the same amount?

Because they are collected from different areas, have different exemptions, and are used for different purposes?

Who pays more? The Muslim or the Kafir?

The Kafir, methinks. As far as I know, they pay more in Jizya form.

The Ottoman Empire had a Khilafah. The King of Morocco is a Caliph as well.

Now that's a development.

Unfortunately for Mohammad VI calling yourself "Khalifa" doesn't automatically make you rightfully a Caliph.
