Was our intervention in Libya contingent on our membership in NATO?

More like it was jump-forced by Britain and France two of our most closest of allies which belong in NATO then Obama had to go with it as a sign of support.

Deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine will set off a chain of events that nobody could predict. Which can include either a cold war at most or perhaps escalating the conflict even further.

It won't. It always deadlocks because neither wants MAD. There's a reason we resorted to proxy for over thirty years.

I'd prefer a missile system. They'll shrug off troops.

well Obama announced nothing of note at his press conference. He should have seen he was refusing to hand over power until proof treason was no committed. I fear we will soon have a banana republic where elections are only for show and its predetermined that the GOP always wins. Thats if even make it to 2018 or 2020 and even have a country.

Thing is we did not have a Cold War with Iran even. Not that we like Iran, but they are not a equal rival.
A Cold War need only be with someone who is actually on our level. And only China is. We again need to prioritize. China is threat number 1, obsessing over Russia only plays into China's hands.

But again we have wandered off topic.

Don't be melodramatic. This is bad, but it's not bad enough to start a constitutional crisis.

It's all coming down for Trump: FBI backs CIA view that Russia intervened to help Trump win I wouldn't be surprised if the republicans impeach him in February.

Id rather see a constitutional crisis then see Trump take office and see the end of the republic and potentially the world.

On what grounds? What crime did Trump commit? And nobody has said the hacks actually changed the outcome of the election.
I disagree with Trump's view of Putin, but having a policy I disagree with is not a crime.

And that article also says Russia's goal was to undermine the credibility of the election. So right now it is the Democrats doing what Putin wants ironically enough.
And Trump would have been better off had this hack thing never happened. Funny how it turns like that.
