Actually, the US could go to war with Russia, and win.

People underestimate the US' military capabilities.

People also underestimate the likely cost of that victory. It's not going to be easy for anyone involved. The US military does not have an overwhelming technological advantage over the Russian military like it did over the Iraqis in Desert Storm (and before anyone points out that the Iraqis were using Soviet tanks, they were shitty export and locally-produced variants worlds apart from the real T-72's in East Germany). The Russian military, meanwhile, struggles with poor training and a lack of funds for procurement. Russia's massive land area will have to play a significant role in its defense, as it has historically. Casualties on both sides are likely to be substantial and the war will not be short.

All of this assumes it doesn't simply go nuclear right from the start, and I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't if open hostilities broke out.

I know I am disappointed with my countrymen for betraying their values and Texans. Texas was a country that forged it's self on adventure and exploration and through war against the unjust and harshness towards them. Today they are well for lack of a better word hillbillies and don't act like the original Texans men with chivalry and bravery to fight against evil not bow to it with open arms. This isn't the pioneer spirit in Texas.
