Not really.
Though again "replace" is a misleading term. You do not change the ACA itself, you change the code.

Thing is few Americans do get it. So the political discourse on this is all screwed up.
We will have to see what changes they wish to make to the code though.

Hint to fellow Republicans, come 2018, be sure to let Montana's conservative voters know how Tester feels about General Mattis being Secretary of Defense.

I think he's a cultural marxist of the frankfurt kind, and abused his office to try and push it on the public.

The legalization of propaganda is one way he did so.

We'll see if when Trump takes office and all the SJW crap dies off within a year or so. Then we'll know never to elect a Democrat like him again.

The SJW's won't go down without a fight. You might think that they'd take the election as a sign that they're loathed because their terrible, but no, they doubled down with muh patriarchy/systemic oppression. They're going to keep up their autistic screeching until the bitter end.

I feel that his chances are pretty good. 81-17 is pretty good for a waiver. Plus Mattis is pretty popular.

Still Tester surprises me.

You're not addressing the American public here. Express a point once or twice. If you feel like you have to keep re-expressing it, in the same fashion, and people aren't giving the desired affect, then it's your point that is the problem. Meaning you should probably find a better way of making it clearer, getting a better understanding of it yourself, or approaching it at a different, more relate-able angle. I don't believe anyone here didn't understand what you meant. It just gets annoying when it gets cookie-cutter and posted over, and over again.

Fair enough.
Though generally bashing the same point over and over again seems the only way to get it through. But yes this is not a political campaign. If it was I would have to say the same thing hundreds more times.

I disagree, I think Novus method of communication is very effective for reaching the vast majority of people. Also consider that some people do not read his posts. He is broadcasting his message effectively and efficiently :^)

The issue is that, despite that people may like him, he is still military (retired) or not. Just from what I've seen, if I'm to assume he was being genuine and not bullshitting anybody, I like him, but I don't want him as Secretary of Defence. Once he crosses that line, he cannot go back. I'm not comfortable with a military official heading a civilian post designed to oversee the military and advise the President. If we were a Martial Republic, sure. But we're not, civilian oversight and a distinction of the line is important.

Understandable.

I personally don't mind military officers taking civilian roles before the 7-year wait is up. Though I trust most military generals more than about anyone else in government.

Especially after the Obama administration.

I was talking about Mattis having an R after his name not Tester. I really shouldn't NSG and drink

I've a lot of faith in military tradition, funnily enough. Politically, I consider myself a martialist, or stratocrat if you'd prefer. Despite that, in our current framework for government, we're meant to have civilian oversight. While I may have my faith in the military, I'm aware that there exist those who would likely abuse their post. I'm not saying Mattis is this way, but when a military official crosses the line into politics, he becomes a politician. I immediately must not trust him, nor what he says. I must constantly scrutinize, criticise, and be sceptical of everything he says and does. This is a problem because he has very deeply ingrained respect from soldiers, and has been given the monikers of "Warrior Monk" or "Mad Dog". You put absolute trust and faith behind your SO not to get you killed, and to take care of you -- this is lost if they do what is likely to happen now.

I guess but, given the popularity of Mattis, the fact that many Democrats voted to waiver Mattis, and the fact that Tetser is a moderate Democrat in a red state who is about to run for re-election in a midterm, this just seems odd.
