My funnest experience this last year was stepping on a toothpick that went through the nerve cluster and join of my big toe. Waited a good two days before I finally went to the doctor. Tried to pull it out, but there was no way in hell.
Ouch, and I thought toothpicks didn't make injuries.
Turns out I was wrong.

Ahem, to not derail this thread into a casual chat, yea, I think Trump's right when he says that an alternative to ACA should appear concurrently in the congress floor along with a repeal of it as well.
"Repeal and delay" like McConnell was hoping, just would do more harm than good.

They do when the little bastards are stuck in the carpet and you step on them. I heated a pocket knife and doused it in alcohol to try and get it, yeah, that wasn't happening. Tried using tweezers and an exacto knife, nope. By that point, I may as well, so I scheduled an appointment, paid what I could on a previous bill so they'd see me, and voila. Even the doctor had a hard time trying to pull it out, she finally just yanked on it.

I guess there was no other option than to do that. Did she at least give you local anesthetics?

The big thing with that is that a repeal only takes 50 votes but to replace it takes 60 votes. There aren't 60 Republicans in the senate, and even if there were we are far from unanimous in what the replacement for Obamacare should even look like.

Which is, honestly, the bigger problem.
I feel McConnell's faction in DC are trying to rush Obamacare out without regard of consequences towards the already insured.
I'd be much less concerned about it if McConnell had a viable replacement bill that a majority of congress republicans agreed with.

I doubt that's their plan, though, given how the first vote went.

Well, their vote pretty much has given them a few weeks to rush a framework before congress.
I am not sure they can do in a few weeks what they haven't been able to do in several years since the ACA passed.

They wouldn't even hear arguments from the Dems on the first vote.

I mean, I hope they prove me wrong, but apparently if they are this bullheaded I wouldn't be surprised if this all flops back in McConnell's face as nothing but a stunt and other Republicans end up abandoning him.

Interesting enough rank and file House republicans won't repeal unless there is an immediate replacement
