DECODING: "This poster is probably a white male, and so that means his position is less valid!"

And I do face racism. Everyone does. If anything, anti white racism is only getting worse as anti-black racism disappears.

Tbf, the reasons for the gender gap in STEM are still not fully understood, and far too complicated to boil down to "gurls dont engineer". It's a bit disingenuous to assert that the gender gap exists because of choice.

As a lifelong liberal, this line of attack is not working. It failed us in 2016 and we will need to get away from identity politics to win again. Winning is important, lest that con artist and his party saddle our country with shitty economic and foreign policies for 8 years instead of 4.

Although I do not agree with your positions on what policies are correct, I respect that you are at least acknowledging what has worked and what has not. Many progressives have merely doubled down on identity politics and the other things that contributed to their loss this election.

I think identity politics by its very nature is racist and sexist and is a pox upon politics and whatever country it nestles in.

I think identity politics have risen as a result of several factors, one of which is basically the result of wanting to belong to a community.

However, I feel many of the left miss the point that "inclusion" doesn't necessarily mean that minorities have to agree with them on everything. In so far as I have seen many people on the left, they tend to be insidiously racist when slighted by a difference of opinion from minorities, and this hurt the left this election, as well.

Not to say there's anyone here in NS who does it, but in many other communities you either agree with the group or you're the bad guy for disagreeing.

We can't actually say yet what failed.
After all we actually did get the popular vote.
Maybe it was just a matter of getting more promotional work in the states where the firewall slipped.
What i do understand it's more of a turnout issue rather than a switch over.

That wasn't a meme.

More to the point, the jury is still out on the exact causes for the disparity in gender ratios in STEM fields, to say nothing of the wage gap overall. If the wage gap does come entirely down to personal choice in fields of study, then the real question is why women choose to go into different fields than men.

Not really. Cartels have gone so far as using homemade submarines to smuggle drugs here, or having people transport things in their stomachs. They've built long tunnels, sometimes a good kilometre in length. It's a waste of money and resources.

Yes it is. The definition of meme is extremely broad.

More to the point, the jury is still out on the exact causes for the disparity in gender ratios in STEM fields, to say nothing of the wage gap overall. If the wage gap does come entirely down to personal choice in fields of study, then the real question is why women choose to go into different fields than men.

Unless the answer to that question can be proved to be the fault of unilateral systematic sexism, then it isn't an issue for the government to be concerned with.

The problem is though, she's right, the walls so far have done nothing but concentrate activity in unreachable areas (which are inherently dangerous), as well as cartels smuggling drugs via alternative means.

A wall isn't going to do anything but look pretty in the middle of the desert. You need more comprehensive measures than building a wall in order for your goal to minimize illegal immigration to the levels you seek to be feasible to begin with, let alone achievable.

I am not going to diss the wall, a chain-link fence is a good start, but there's more to it than chain-link fences, is the point.
