Secondly, the popular vote in the presidential election is a goddamn meaningless statistic, because both candidates campaigned to win the electoral college vote, not the popular vote. If the campaigns had been run for the popular vote, Trump wouldn't have had eleven million rallies in Pennsylvania and would have had some in California.

If y'all Democrats hate the popular vote so much and find it so misrepresentative of the people, why did you try to get it changed when it was helping you? It's just something for you to whine about to help feed your victim complexes and patriarchy/white conspiracy theories.

You claimed that Democrats were trying "to prevent the will of a democratic election from being enacted." The popular vote is the only democratic part of the election. If you are going to disregard it, you have no basis to even pretend that the president-elect was chosen democratically.

As far as the whole thing with the EC helping the Dems more, I think it is true. They only need to win a handful of states to win the presidency, and most of which always go solid blue. It's hard for a Republican to win the presidency nowadays.

Now, even after Trump's victory because of the Electoral College, I still believe it should be replaced with a two-round system, the first round being purely popular vote and second being a proportional version of the EC
