Your resistance to distinguishing between sex and gender has nothing to do with being more factually accurate. You simply use them as synonyms for the same biological phenomena, while others use the latter to refer to a sociological phenomenon. The latter usage is no less valid than yours.

There's around the same number of intersex people in the States as there are Jewish people, but even if they were "errors," they would still disprove your assertion that sex determines gender. Unless you want to force someone with ambiguous genitalia to be androgynous. You also ignore the studies of the brains of transgender people, the history of a "third gender" throughout the entire world, etc.
