Well, it is a sensitive topic at times, since it's sometimes weaponised against us. As long as we keep in mind that the etiology of trans identity doesn't affect the validity of trans identity, we should be fine.

It is sad, but hopefully things keep improving and justice is better delivered.

Back in the day, an old man I used to know, who was "friend" of the family, shot at his son with a rifle because his son dared to wear ear rings. Chased the boy out the house at a young age, he had to live with friends. The fact that nobody except my mother took issue with it or even had the old fuck put in jail is something of... well, let's just say that it's good that times are changing.

There's still a lot of idiots out there tho. Like this one guy my brother knows. The guy thinks gayness is contagious, so whenever he's around somebody he perceives as LGBT, he has to reaffirm himself by asking his wife/girlfriend if he's straight or not. He hides behind his woman, to shield himself from the gayness. People like him need... an education.

In a nutshell: The Daily Beast (left-bias, high factual reporting) reported that a despicable pro-Trump troll army descended to mock a transgender woman who committed suicide, and Facebook was slow to deal with them.

For sake of being honest, I wish to share one of the reasons I worry so much about the spread of that hate-filled kind of right-wing populism that has lead to my ongoing serious mental health issues and feelings of hopelessness. It is also one of the reasons why I feel social networks are too hostile for me, apart from trolls poking fun at disabled people.
