What else do you have to say other than to boss around a woman like that? Not to mention I've read your signature and it leaves me with some concerns of what are you doing in the trans thread.

Honestly I hesitated for a moment because I knew this would happen. Just because I disagree with you guys on the nature of the sexes or however you want to put it doesn't make being annoyed by a messy floor a hate crime.

So had my first go at IRL clothes shopping. Had more problems with it being busy than anything else.

Came back with some stuff though.

Is it bad that my eyes immediately saw the red label on dark clothes and thought it was a nazi armband...

Its really nothing personal, but this place does get a fair number of trolls and less than respectful types, and there are a certain set of political characteristics and views on gender, which tend to correlate with such. So its a learned behavioral response to be a little wary when those qualities pop up on the thread.

Not to say we haven't had some wonderful conversations and contributors on the thread from those positions, but just that usually its associated with a "oh Gods here we go again" feeling.

I believe that the LGBT end up often fleeing to the left because conservatives often have issues with being LGBT, most particularly with marriage matters and changing birth certificates. I used to be pretty far to the right just to swing left knowing that the GOP isn't particularly fond of me unless I'm as rich as Caitlyn Jenner.

That, and how insufferable many seem to me. That's my opinion, though. I have no issue with most of the LGBT community because I think there are actually problematic groups and peoples to worry about.

The thing is watch out for the religious fundamentalists in the right... They're no friend of ours. Also explains why I have a lukewarm feeling to social justice supporters given their fondness to ally with Islam, the most anti-LGBT religion given what laws are in Muslim majority countries. The only thing I'm fervently against are those pushing religion onto everyone else.

Edit: I don't think we should discuss much in the terms of politics here, but that's my 2 cents on the matter of politics and being LGBT.

Honestly, I don't think its too bad to discuss politics when they involve trans issues. But that shouldn't snowball into "ermagherd, how can you possibly believe that Jill Stein is not a fascist!" or "psh, Donald Trump is the ONLY true socialist candidate."

I agree, we should stick to the topic at hand. I was just making the point that I feel people of the LGBT community are too quick to leap to a conclusion that the camouflage wearing guy in a Smith and Wesson ball cap and an NRA sticker on his truck is going to be against him, when that's not necessarily true.

(That's basically a description of me when I'm in town running errands on my days off)
