Hmmm just flat out tell them. Worked well for my brother when he came out gay last year. Brought his boyfriend in to an extremely conservative family and told us. We welcomed him and gave em both a beer. If they're a good friend and you can trust them, coming out shouldn't be a bad thing.

It wouldn't be a bad thing, but could very well make everything more complicated. Especially as they already think I'm odd. So no, just telling them isn't an option. The whole matter is extremely complicated, yeah? They know me as Sammy. Changing that isn't easy.

It's really not that simple.
This nation does not represent my actual views. A semi-feudal absolute monarchy going through political upheaval.

Leftist; democratic socialist with a helping of civic republicanism.

Where thy gentle wings abide."

I'd say it depends on the family.
Obviously, good parents wouldn't disown their child for such a thing. However, terrible parents exist and would/will disown their own child for such a thing.
Beyond just parents - that's a bit more difficult. Especially if there are family members you barely know thanks to having a large family.

However, that's all mostly guessing because I'm not gay or trans and I don't know many offline homosexuals and I only know one trans person offline.

Just, lol. You've clearly never asked a ciswoman about her morning routine.

Considering I live with one and have had many a gf who i have watched, yes. They hardly NEED to work on their presentation. They just do because if a stupid pecking order that society places on women that I find greatly displeasing.

There's a few trans girls who probably don't need to work on their presentation, either.

What worked for your brother won't necessarily work for her.

1: Your brother was lucky.

2: Trans =/= gay, and we get treated differently by the average person than gay people do.

3: Sure, it shouldn't be a bad thing, but it all too often is, and if she doesn't feel safe coming out to them, I wouldn't pressure her into coming out anyways.

I wasnt pressuring her. She asked a question on a thread. I gave my 2 cents.

As for transgirls needing to work to look the part, except for a rare situation, I cannot imagine a situation where a male would not have to work to seem like a female.

Sex change operations can have a near perfect result these days at portraying a desired sex. There really and truly is no way to tell for certain. It really is a damned shame. In the 19th century and before, when there was no such thing as a sex change, when sex and gender was set in stone from birth, and people had no power to change that. Yes the old days! When everyone had to be cisgender, that was when the world was truly right and proper.

That is a lucky thing, yes. The matter is complicated because this person has known me since I was four and we were friends for that long. They're not going to change anything easily. They already make fun of my long hair and that sort of thing. Also, coming out would only help because I could sleep over at her house without having to explain my morning routine.

I mean it partially did before the days of HRT. I mean, one of my exes was FTM trans, and he said that the testosterone was making him fly off the handle at times, in situations that wouldn't have caused that reaction before the HRT started.
