I'm a mix. I'd say that I pretty much have things that fall into the "masculine" and "feminine". Its really hard for me to try and say I'm one or the other.

For example, I'm interested in politics, but I'm also into some really sappy romances. I wear some pretty cute clothes, but I prefer jeans and hoodies over skirts or frills. I play video games often, but I also love stuffed animals. I like make-up, but I hardly wear any myself. I want to work, but aslo would like to be a mother someday. I'm not promiscuous, but I'm also a pervert and enjoy dirty humour. :p
...
The list goes on about how I both fit many "feminine" roles, but also fit "masculine" ones as well. I'm just me, and that's all there is to it. To be honest, if transitioning has taught me anything, its that gender norms aren't something that really fit almost anyone on either side of the aisle. Most people are neither 'masculine' or 'feminine'. They're just them, and that's what's really important. What I've learned from transitioning, ultimately, is just how useless and unnecessary gender roles are.

Overall, gender norms are butts, and not the good kind of butts. I personally think they should be gotten rid of. :p

They're flat butts that aren't muscular nor pleasant to look at!

I'm for gender norms. I appreciate femininity in Women and Masculinity in Men. Not that I think that one should zealously try to live up to either, but I think what makes the two different is what should be celebrated.

I find girly girls attractive but I wouldn't want to live in a world solely populated by people who conform to gender norms.

In that case? I don't really know. I could see where it comes off as weird, accepting one and not the other, but I don't really think it's transphobic. I'd say it's just a matter of preference or taste. I don't really care about that kind of stuff though.

And I can say pretty safely that, while my presentation is slightly more tomboy-ish, I have a pretty good mix of "feminine" and "masculine" gender norms.

Indeed, my personality poorly fits into either gender's roles. The dysphoria on the other hand pushes me to transition while the presentation would depend on if I'm working or not.

When I identified as nonbinary I would sometimes shorten it to "NB" but never "enby." It seems a bit silly, imo.

I'd agree that spelling it as enby sounds like some anime character. One of those who makes deals to make people into magical girls.

Oh god, that reminds me of a conversation I was recently party to (I don't want to say participated, because I didn't say much) in which someone was explaining the difference between men's and women's brains. It was so goddamn hard to refrain from spouting off about how none of what they were saying was supported by neurology or psychology. :/

Pretty much this. I do use "NB" in writing as a shorthand, but I can't recall a time when I've ever used "enby" in spoken conversation.

And this is why Merriam-Webster has a restraining order out on you.

Personally, I just don't give much of a shit about gender roles these days; I might have when I was in the teenage "OMG what will people think?!?!" phase, but I was raised with the knowledge that gender roles are social constructs. I do what I want, and don't care how "masculine" or "feminine" it is.

It's been over 24 hours since I last shaved, and where I would normally have a good amount of stubble by now, it's mostly smooth.

Baking is delicious and cake has no gender. I'd bake more but, like you, I'm trying to keep the weight off! I'm making a cake tomorrow for Christmas though.

When did you last have laser? I've found that my face is more stubbly, not less, until the dead hairs fall out. Which is annoying because it means stubble for Christmas noooo. I have noticed, though, that the anti-androgens are definitely having an effect on my hair growth - it's about half as fast as it used to be now.

About a week and a half ago, now. And yeah, until just yesterday my facial hair was all prickly and gross. :( I guess the dead hair's finally falling out.

I'm not on anti-androgens yet, but hopefully I can start my hormone readiness assessment in the new year and start some form of HRT by May -- it's supposed to take anywhere between 2 and 6 months, IIRC (which I may not because I read that info months ago). (I use May as a personal goal because that's my birth month.)

Also, I feel like my voice has dropped a bit more in the past year. I feel like it's harder to get my voice to where I want it than it used to be. Then again, I haven't put any effort into that for months, as I realised when I picked up the phone at work last week and someone called me "sir", so I should practise more and see where I can get to. In any case, that's just more incentive to get on those anti-androgens ASAP.
