1. Its not.
2. Do you honestly tell your dates to bring their medical histories with them, and then expect to play "You show me yours and I'll show you mine"? I strongly suspect the number of dates you've been on is less than 1.
3. Sorry, "emotional blue balls" is not a good enough excuse to justify prying into another person's personal medical details on the first date.

1) If you want kids, then the other person being infertile can certainly be a dealbreaker.
2 & 3) Perhaps not on the first date, but before things get serious.

The V O I D wrote:
That's a good point. You want to save yourself for marriage, right? I thought you said something like that in the past.

What if your partner/wife was unaware that she was infertile, and you find out only after being together for a long time - long enough to get married and such? What do you do then?

I'm against divorce for any reason other than spousal abuse.

Fair enough, I guess. As for the date thing: where is the line between being 'serious' and 'just dating', though? Because some of this stuff you're expecting usually won't naturally come up until it is needed or until you've been together for a while and your partner feels they can confide things in you.

I mean, yeah, basically. If they tell you before sex or when sex comes up that they have an STD, that is entirely appropriate.

Or do you expect them to sit in a restaurant with you and just blurt out 'I have AIDS' for no reason?

AIDS specifically is serious enough that, yes, it should absolutely be revealed as soon as possible. That's probably the biggest possible dealbreaker short of illegal territory.

Yeah, but you're saying you expect them to reveal it to you in public. I mean, maybe if you're in private or alone together, they might reveal that they have an STD so that you know what the deal is before sex can even come up.

If by "person", you mean "the transphobic individual" as opposed to "trans person", and if by "disclose it" you mean "the transphobic individual's aversion to dating trans people" instead of "the trans person's status as trans", then yes.

I find it funny how you play this game that there's no acceptable reason someone could have for not wanting to date a trans person.

Perhaps, but if someone's political views amount to "every Jew needs to be tossed in an oven", that's the kind of thing I'd like to know before I get emotionally invested, wouldn't you?

There are acceptable reasons: the trans person happens to also be a bitch/douchebag; the trans person is abusive; the trans person is a crazy stalker boyfriend/girlfriend type.

Not wanting to date a trans person for being trans makes about as much sense as not wanting to date a black person for being black. And it is just as transphobic as the latter situation is most definitely racist.

It's not any more unreasonable than a Jew asking if the food he's ordering at a restaurant is kosher.

Not really, because being trans actually has some consequences. Infertility being a major one, as well as it being against several religious codes.

Yeah, and? They'll probably bring up their infertility the moment kids are mentioned; they might also be open to adoption. You know, give one of the hundreds of thousands of kids out there a loving home.

It being against your religion isn't relevant to them because they are not necessarily of your religion. So therefore, yeah, it might be relevant to you, but it is irrelevant to the trans person.

All of your reasoning just points out further that it is your job to point out you won't date trans people, not the trans person's job to point out that they are trans.

Dealbreakers work both ways. You can't say "Whether I hate black people is irrelevant to the relationship, because you're not black"; if someone has reasons to not want to be with someone, then that's as good a reason as any other.
