And the reason that is important is because I don't really want to be burdened with my most important qualification referring to me by my birth name for the rest of my life.

I think you need legal name change before they could be forced to alter your information accordingly to compyl with la or whatever. I don't particularlly understand it much. NAme change should be allowed by anybody regardless of situaiton, last I heard. tho, when I did it I had ot give a reason. I said i'm trans, but probably could've given whatever other reason to justify.

Various instituations will participate in a little corruption by allowing oyu to change oyu gender form male to female o nyour paperwork, but where oyu live, I dont know which ones would do that. You'd have to ask.

I managed to scrape together the money for legal name change. Cost me around $400 in tot and I was able to accomplish it locally tho.

It can be done, tho seems to vary by region. I had to save up that money tho, which could only be done when I didn't have anything else to pay out for.

Ooo, I can actually be useful: I had to change my name just after I started university (for a much more minor reason: some numpty typed it in wrong). They said that they were perfectly happy to accept a deed poll, but I ended up just giving them my passport instead. For some weird reason, they didn't accept provisional drivers licenses, but did accept full drivers licenses.

That, at least, is a lot easier in the UK: under UK law, the way to legally change your name is just to go by the new name, and it's done. There's a thing called Deed Polls that are useful to persuade banks and things that you aren't trying to defraud them when the names start changing, but legally speaking, you can just do it.

Like I said, I have not legally changed my name as I have not started transition. Ergo I have no documentation to use to make the correction.

In the US each state makes their own rules. Many allow name change by deed poll.

Umm this is false. This has nothing to do with federal employees. It removes a guilty until proven innocent burden from federal CONTRACTORS. Contractors are NOT federal employees.

It also does not change the law, or make it legal for them to discriminate. It just stops slamming smaller contractors with a massive paperwork burden even when they have done nothing wrong.

Look I did not vote for Trump, and disagree with him on many things.
But please do not misrepresent things. Such misrepresentation is fake news.

I feel really sad about his death since the flag gave us all a universal symbol for sexual freedom. If Le Pen wins the elections then who knows how worse the homophobia will get because of some of FN’s supporters.
