I heard it from health-sector academics back in the day, both as part of equal access agendas for primary health care and in psychology/counselling academia. Don't know if a fringe group somewhere is using it, all I can say is that if they are they didn't invent it and aren't the only ones using it.

I just normally use LGBTQ, LGBTQ+, or LGBTQIA, usually the first one, especially in writing, and I have wrote research papers about the community as a history student.

Personally, the B,T, and Q apply to me, for bisexual, transgender, and queer. I'm not a lesbian, gay, questioning, intersex, asexual, or aromantic.

The LGBT order, and all of its extended variants included, is not going away anytime soon. It seems to be resilient and the alternatives like MOGAI or GSM or SAGA have not really caught on. I think I see GSM most often, and only MOGAI on tumblr and sometimes twitter. But LGBTQ+ is not going away, it is sticking around.

Out of sheer boredom, I googled "Am I trans quiz" and these are what I found from Gotoquiz. Here are two versions of the similar quiz: Are you a trans woman? and are you a trans man?

The trans woman quiz result: 56%, it told me I was a feminine nonbinary person, I knew that.
The trans man quiz result 33%: it told me I was a cis woman lol.

I get that a trans man quiz is geared for afab people while a trans woman quiz is geared for amab people, but these were fun to do for me, as someone who has already realized they are trans and nonbinary.

Ah, well. It's the phrasing, but the letter order of L,G,B, and T, plus additional letters such as Q,I, and A, or sometimes the plus symbol after the T.

But, I like my unintended phrasing now you mentioned it.
