You are confusing sex with gender, and speaking in biological terms on a subject that is primarily psychological, social and cultural.

Given that gender is fundamentally psychological, social, cultural and behavioral, there is nothing delusional about saying you are a woman even if you were assigned male at birth, because you are not speaking in terms of your biology, as you would be if you claimed that you were in fact a walrus.

No, because it deliberately misrepresents the conclusion of the study it cites, to the point of conveniently omitting the section I've bolded.

Persons with transsexualism, after sex reassignment, have considerably higher risks for mortality, suicidal behaviour, and psychiatric morbidity than the general population. Our findings suggest that sex reassignment, although alleviating gender dysphoria, may not suffice as treatment for transsexualism, and should inspire improved psychiatric and somatic care after sex reassignment for this patient group.

"May not suffice" =/= "does not work". It means "may not work on its own". SRS is always a part of a much larger program of support; it is never administered on its own.
