"Let's talk about socialism. I think it's very important to bring back the idea of socialism into the national discussion to where it was at the turn of the [last] century before the Soviet Union gave it a bad name. Socialism had a good name in this country. Socialism had Eugene Debs. It had Clarence Darrow. It had Mother Jones. It had Emma Goldman. It had several million people reading socialist newspapers around the country. Socialism basically said, hey, let's have a kinder, gentler society. Let's share things. Oh, I got one that will piss all the women off.

This was a religious class that I had to take when I was in Community College, and this guy was a Non-Denominational Pastor. He actually said that God has a plan for everyone, and if your plan is to get preggers, then you're going to get preggers. Even if God has to get someone to rape you, you will get Preggers.

At that point, I just stopped listening to him.

That rather depends what you think his point was?

If you think that his point was that going against the established order was inherently wrong... then , no? Because God, himself, goes against the established order when it suits him - and God (allegedly) can't sin, so it can't be wrong.

I don't think most of the Religious colleges here would get away with saying something like that even.

Yea, this was in the Summer of 2004, and I had to take three classes during the Summer. Guess who taught all three! He spent most of the time preaching instead of teaching anything relevant to the course work.

Here's another one of his little gems: He talked about how his wife and him would go to the video rental store, and go rent a movie. They would go home and if the movie had a certain amount of curse words, they'd take it back and demand a refund. I'm like Dude....there's a thing call a Rating System....look into it!

He also tries to get a meal for two for the price of one at restaurants because his wife and him are of one flesh....

Yea, I'm sure Jesus is real proud of this fella.

My high school AP Bio teacher was a moron. She'd achieved such a substantial employment history, and was a gifted grantwriter, so as to the point no matter how dumb she was, she couldn't be fired. The key moment of stupid confirmation was when she pronounced "dolphins have gills."
