It might take a few hours.
Don't lock before it actually hits 500. I am always disappointed when my fellow mods do that.

Going to bed at 10, as usual. The more interesting question is boy #2. He wants to go to a party a few cities away, in a fairly shitty neighborhood. I was thinking of offering him to stay home and have a drink or two instead. (Note: here it is legal to give a drink to your child in your own home).

I suspect they probably do ample test drops in advance and have a whole slew of troubleshooting and contingency plans precisely so they can solve it in seconds for anything but the most outlandish or unlikely of scenarios.

Wait, there are places where this isn't?
Sure, for extremely young kids (think <13), that might fall under not so proper parenting. But me, my parents were giving me 1 beer occasionally before I got to drinking age (16 back then).

EDIT TO ADD:New Scario wrote:Being tipsy with my aunt and uncle is a strange feeling, let alone my parents.
Oh man, you think that's weird, when I was in high school my parents and all the other PTA parents were at a holiday party along with my grade school and middle school principals. About 9:30 at night I get a call from the party asking if I could get and drop off some more ice.
Seeing not only your parents, but all the other 'school parents' AND your childhood school principals intoxicated is just surreal.
