"internal traditionalism" whatever that means...

is that the ridiculous arguement of " your more likley to be killed by a radical christian in american than a jihadi"

Well that may be true....if were talking about JUST America. The world suffers from radical islam however as a whole.

Islamic extremism is a huge issue for many places in the world and it's becoming worse in Europe with the refugee crisis.

No, if we're being honest, you're likely to get shot in a fight as a form of death, than you are to be blown up by a Jihadi.

I don't bother with issues that don't affect me personally. Islamic terrorism is just one of them. Is it a problem? Yes. Is it a problem that I have to concern myself about because it impacts my daily life? No. A car running me over while I'm walking to the store is far more of a concern in my daily life than Islamic terrorism, hence why I don't perceive this with as much fear as you do.

So I guess Sexism won again this time in France. :P

In all seriousness, I'd like Le Penn to have won if I was in France voting, even though they both sounded horrible.

Conservatives think homosexuality should be illegal.

That just says Western conservatives and Muslims are closer in agreement than either would like to admit.

Well paris did seem nice in the summer of 1944 to hold a nice little parade.

germans thought so too.

A shame America didn't think so, or it would have liberated it.

Balican wrote:
Olerand wrote:We begged? Is that why you came 5 years after the war started? Clearly our begging didn't move many heart strings. Not to mention that once America was in France, it opted to completely sidestep liberating Paris in hopes of getting onto German soil before the Red Army had taken a chunk of the country, forcing the Free French to march in their Spanish Republican battalions alone to liberate Paris.

Let alone, by the way, that America didn't "want" to liberate France at all. It had just been pestered by the USSR to open another front, it needed a northern front against the Nazis, and like I said earlier, it had to get to Germany before the USSR steamrolled Berlin. The idea that America liberated France, especially out of the kindness of its heart, is badly written and badly researched historical fiction.

We knew France could be saved, if we had spent more time in France, the Soviets would have killed more Germans that in our timeline were saved.

So America didn't liberate Paris because it was worried about German lives now? After having firebombed western German cities for years? Please.

America didn't liberate Paris because it knew that Stalin was setting up spheres of influence in the East and wanted a piece of the German pie before Stalin was at the Rhine.

This topic isn't really relevant to this thread, but I just thought I had to set the historical record straight with Neo Balka.

oh yea, 3 years of spilling blood with the Free french forces. never fucking happened.

The point he's making is that America was in the war because it got attacked and wanted power in post-war Europe. If America was in it "to protect freedumbz", they would have joined 5 years earlier.

Polls can be skewed easily.

sample corruption, asking only one portion of the population.

happens in the US all the time.

Tell that to people who thought Lawrence v. Texas was a bullshit decision by the courts. Also, people who want for the court to visit Obergefell v. Hodges. Oh, also tell that to our VP, who let "Gay conversion camps" run uninhibited. And I am sure that there's people in the UK who want to ban homosexuality or gay marriage.

Outlawing being gay or being able to pursue happiness while gay is actually not a new phenomenon.

You should be more worried about some asshole crashing against your car or running you over on the street than Muslim terrorism daily, though.

You don't have to deal with ISIS or another form of extremist everyday. But you do have to drive every day back and forth.
