The point is to have fun. A smile on your face could make all the difference.

So you don't actually want me to answer any of those, even though there are answers to those questions?

The point of a satire is to critique something about a process, ideology, group, etc. What's this "belief" meant to criticize? The lack of joy in politics?

You can send me a TG. I won't mind.

Yes.

Did you see how this election split the country in twain? We need to make politics silly again so more people can unite under the idea of fun other then the ideas of division.

The Derpy Democratic Republic Of Herp wrote:Ok, so this is something I just thought up a new ideology for people sick of the left and right always bickering at each other: sillyism.

What is Sillyism: Sillyism is just going with the flow, putting the happiness of everyone before all else. It means that political parties would be real parties, elections would no longer be about who is the least worst candidate but who can make you the most happy.

I would mean no bitterness but sweetness. It would let anyone do or be anything, and It would add democracy to the workplace via letting anyone directly voting for or against a policy that would affect the economy or business.

Debates could be solved via shooting each other with water guns.

That is what sillyism is about.

So, this new view could change the world, I would like to hear peoples thoughts on it.

Voting on issues turns it into a popularity contest not who is right. Market analysis should show what should be made and in what amount by a company not by the random janitor with no insight on the markets of southeast Asia. Decisions today require expertise and allowing ignorant people to make decisions is why children die to measles in the United States when vaccines exist. It is why "natural" and "artificial" are seen as concrete terms instead of arbitrary distinctions.

The rest of this ideology is nothing more than ethical hedonism rephrased and applied specifically to the political sphere. It is nothing new or imaginative. It is simply a default to the status quo by having the majority make decisions without needed clear reasons for them.

It seems to be an attempt at resolving nothing and letting people continue to suffer needlessly.

You've taken the term "crappy idea" to a whole new level!

Direct democracy has absolutely nothing to do with anti vaccines.
Nope again, It is to energise the public and make everyone happy instead of bickering at one another.

But should it just be water in the guns, or could it be lemonade?
If a decision made someone unhappy, what would we do?

I see how the people gathering behind this ideology are going to split into factions. The Sillyist Party will split into many parties, each following a different variant of Sillyism!

So your prediction is exactly what has happened to communists, socialists, etc.?

There might be something that can be done to keep Sillyism from following that path.

So what you are saying is:

putting the happiness of everyone before all else = the political, economic, and social theories of Karl Marx including the belief that the struggle between social classes is a major force in history and that there should eventually be a society in which there are no classes
