If they cared about politics they shouldn't have lived in a Pit of Liberal Degeneracy (tm). Such low information voters shouldn't control the country anyway.

Though I'd opt more for Wyoming, they could use some cheap migrant labor.

You'd better believe I'm a bitter Bernie Sanders supporter. The Dems fucked up and fucked up hard. Hopefully they'll learn that neoliberalism and maintaining the status quo isn't the way to win this election or any other one. I doubt they will, though.

So far I have not seen any bite. For all his talk he actually does not do very much. Now I would rather someone I though would do more good, but the thing with Carrier was encouraging.

Pence did all the real work, but Trumps talking worked well there. Sort of a good cop bad cop thing.

You mean where he saved about 800 jobs out of 2100, lied and said it was 1100, and arranged for millions of dollars in tax breaks and subsidies for it, and which carrier is already using it to build out an automated system to replace most of the workers who's jobs were "saved" in the factory with machines?

Pence did all the real work, but Trumps talking worked well there. Sort of a good cop bad cop thing.

In the sense that Carrier was the bad cop and got everything they wanted, and Trump and Pence rolled over for them.

The same could be said of those living in the South or the Midwest, just depends on your political tilt. Everyone with internet access is plenty informed. It's the kind of information that's the issue.

Is the information liberal confirmation? Is it conservative conspiracy theories? Is it an opinion or is it a fact? And these days, people seem to think that their opinions outweigh facts, on both sides.

Wyoming could use people, period.

China needs someone to stand up to them. No need to treat someone trying to rape you politely. Be nice and play the usual international games, they screw you over. Plus China needs to be called out on their BS.

Any jobs saved is good, and yes, you are going to have to give the companies some incentive to create jobs here. That is how companies work. They do things to make money.

And Trump is not even president. At least he did one thing against the anti manufacturing insanity that has overtaken our government. That is a desperately needed change.

They do not outsource to be evil. They outsource because bad government policies force them to do so. And because they can be greedy too, but you are going to have to work with them, not against them.

The problem is that international relations are not that simple.

This is called "crony capitalism", giving certain companies tax breaks because they have the influence necessary to get them, while having small businesses unable to compete with the big companies who are able to influence the government into giving them giant tax breaks.

I'll agree that something needs to be done on the outsourcing problem, but practicing crony capitalism is not the way.

Hell, even that idiot from Alaska who can see Russia from her house can recognize crony capitalism when she sees it.

Besides that, the United States manufacturing is up, not down. It's above when Clinton left office in the middle of a boom.

It's just that automation has replaced many of the jobs, which IS a problem, but not an outsourcing problem.

Dunno why. There's not much reason for people to move to Wyoming compared to other, more hospitable states. Well, unless you want to be a forest ranger.

Yeah, there is no real incentive to move there, no. Just meant that the small population of 584,153 could do with some company.

How to conduct international relations is a subjective. And you can be too weak and passive. Again this is a welcome change. Clearly acting weak and passive before China does not work. Some one needs to stand up to them.

http://www.epi.org/publication/manufact ... e-culprit/
Outsourcing not automation is the problem.

Now what else can he do at this point? He is not even president. He at least tried to do something about carrier when Obama would not do anything at all.

Again part of it is going to involve making a more friendly businesses environment and working with companies.

Sarah Palin NEVER said she could see Russia from her house. I mean she has said stupid stuff, but at least we need to be honest. No need to lie about what she said. Tina Fey said that. Not Palin. And yes I know Palin is into the whole free trade markets always work neoliberal stuff. I am not. The market is important and has its place, but the government needs to ensure it works for the good of the country.

Oh and I missed it early, but despite getting yelled at by Trump Rubio and Cruz are doing fine. That was bark. He argued with them. He did not hurt them.

Because crony capitalism is bad.

Again part of it is going to involve making a more friendly businesses environment and working with companies.

But handcrafted tax breaks only to certain companies is crony capitalism, and ultimately hurts the economy in the long run (not that it's exactly uncommon at the state level).

Incidentally, I looked this up. I'm not sure why I thought that - I guess I heard it so often I internalized it. However, snopes checked it out and no, she didn't say that.

And I suspect acting like a dick won't work either, but I guess we will see.

Outsourcing not automation is the problem.

They seem to indicate the problem is currency manipulation.

Now what else can he do at this point? He is not even president. He at least tried to do something about carrier when Obama would not do anything at all.

Because crony capitalism is bad.

Again part of it is going to involve making a more friendly businesses environment and working with companies.

But handcrafted tax breaks only to certain companies is crony capitalism, and ultimately hurts the economy in the long run (not that it's exactly uncommon at the state level).

Incidentally, I looked this up. I'm not sure why I thought that - I guess I heard it so often I internalized it. However, snopes checked it out and no, she didn't say that.

Mea culpa.

Currency manipulation is a big problem pushing outsourcing. Which is why we need someone willing to say the (gasp) T word. Currency manipulation is part of the bad trade policies that do not counteract other countries barriers to trade.

Legally a tax cut cannot specify just one company, others will benefit as well. Yes you have to be careful about how you do it, but doing absolutely nothing is not a solution either.

You are not the first one to make that mistake about Palin. Tina Fey did such a good job pretending to be her people get the two confused.

And Palin is right (stopped clock maybe), you actually can see Russia from a part of Alaska. Well two parts technically, but what Palin said was objectively true, from an Alaskan Iskand you can in fact see Russian territory. Little Diomede is the name of it.

Think something like prewar Fallout, minus the bad stuff.

Politically I am an independent. I support what is good for the country, which means I cannot support either party.

Near 0%.
You'd better believe I'm a bitter Bernie Sanders supporter. The Dems fucked up and fucked up hard. Hopefully they'll learn that neoliberalism and maintaining the status quo isn't the way to win this election or any other one. I doubt they will, though.

Sounds good to me. I'm all for state's rights and gun rights(makes me racist for some reason but whatever) so Sessions looks great, I was skeptical of Tillerson because I didn't know him but now that Dick Cheney and Jeb Bush have endorsed him I figure he's got what it takes, I'm all for rolling back EPA, and I'm a supporter of school choice. And you didn't even mention General Mattis at all. Very nice picks indeed.

DeVos, while I don't like her, merely supports voucher programs for private schools. Just because you're a proponent of private education, doesn't mean you're an opponent to public education.

How to conduct international relations is a subjective. And you can be too weak and passive. Again this is a welcome change. Clearly acting weak and passive before China does not work. Some one needs to stand up to them.

I'm sorry I'm getting some whiplash here. Weren't Trump voters in favour of closer ties between the US and Russia to prevent war, but now they're happy the US is standing up to China?

So you're telling me there's a chance.
