I don't agree that even suggesting the idea of whites losing power is "supremacist talk". I come from a region where nearly 80% of the population is white, and the majority opinion is that there is a major emphasis on improving conditions only for the impoverished of minority races, allowing the idea of the "forgotten white man" to take hold. The Democratic Party has ignored the white race since JFK, and now its coming back to bite them. The Dems are now in the minority in nearly 75% of state legislatures, not to mention their well known defeats in the federal houses of Congress.

Yeah but Biden didn't win an election this year. The new Speaker of the House, presumably, would have either won an election this year or would have been elected in the 2014 midterms and thus might be a more 'legitimate' choice for a caretaker government. Maintaining all of Obama's cabinet and administration temporarily as a matter of expedience and continuity but have a Republican president in charge would have good 'bipartisan' optics.
