Maybe we should just elect Evan McMullin or some other third party candidate president, wait four years, and try the election again.

We're talking about population?

I think the number was, like, 49-ish% of Americans didn't bother to vote at all.

The kart time their was a faithlessness elector was in 2004 when ONE Minnesota democrat did so. Chances of this happening are slim to none.

I'll take your third party deal, but only on the condition that the candidate we appoint is Joe Exotic. It's gotta be Joe Exotic.

I was pulling for her to be elected as much as anyone (despite being Canadian), but this is beyond wishful thinking. If it were the other way around, Dems would be outraged by the very suggestion. I know Trump is possibly very dangerous, but until he takes the oath of office...we just have to see.

There's no chance in hell of this succeeding.

I don't like Trump but have long been a supporter of the Electoral College. Consider this, Hal for of the country lives in these counties. Imagine if they all voted one way and won the election for that candidate. How fair would that be?

Your opinion doesn't mean anything, the point is we have the electoral college and Donald Trump won it, that means more states voted for trump than voted for Hillary and because of that the widest range of opinions was measured, the electoral college helps fight against the hive mind mentality.

Donald Trump won the election legitimately, the electors won't change their votes due to the dishonorable nature of it. Get over it, America voted in Donald Trump.

1860s.

A Civil War in this day is terribly unlikely, not least of all because there's no new slavery issue to get people worked up enough to want to secede and actually go through with it.

I agree, people should just accept the outcome and give the god-emperor President-elect Mr. Trump a chance.

Well, California wants to secede...but in this day and age, I doubt there would be a war if that ended up happening. Then again, this election has been pretty crazy...

CA seceding is very unlikely anyways, since US law doesn't allow secession I think.

Ideas like these are just made up by the political establishment to discredit Trump, even after being elected.
