...yay?

Maybe its because you can get 25 years to life for shoplifting.

I dunno, if some one shoots a store clerk in a robbery and then shoots two more people trying to get away...then shop lifts...obviously they didn't learn their lesson

If they shot that many people they would get a long sentence anyway. But then you have people who haven't shot anyone doing 25 to life.

What is not to love people?

I love it because it is the only nation in the world founded on the concept of popular sovereignty and the principles of the enlightenment; and which enshrines these ideals in its consitution along with a mandate to "form a more perfect union."

Too bad so many Americans don't seem to understand this.

pfff, blind nationalism is great.I certainly like it So is not particularly caring about whining Europeans. Because, honestly, why would I care about your country (unless you are an American). You guys don't like us, and at this point, a lot of us don't like you. There are some inherent social, economic, and political differences between us that seriously separate us. And while yes, we might think we are superior, are you actually suggesting to me that the French, Germans, English, Italians, and Spaniards are not ever arrogant and condescending snobs? And that they never feel any nationalism, at all? If you imply the English and Germans don't, you are lying, I go to school with them, and they are just as arrogant and condescending as we are. (Though I love them all)

People are people. If Portugal was the world's one super power, I can assure you all that all of you would be saying how insufferably arrogant the Portuguese were. So, yup, rest of the world, suck it up. When the US is no longer a super power in, plus or minus, a hundred years all of us former superpowers can complain about those arrogant young whipper snapper nations with their crazy ideas, irritating tourists, abusive international policy, and awful clothes.

I would say Teddy Roosevelt was the last President I could stand without gritting my teeth after that it was just a clusterfuck of nonsensical interventionist nonsense.
