They won't leave. Not because it's not possible but because it's worth too much to the US economy.

You would see North Dakota pipeline policing all over again with California.

Also secession is illegal.

Oh it's illegal?

Well thank goodness, that will stop the protesters right away.

If only they knew how illegal it was.

There's already a "Calexit", it's called Mexico. Before Mexico "Calentered", California was solid Republican. Hopefully it soon will be again.

It won't.

Also, it's worth noting that immigration from Mexico isn't really a new thing, so the implication that Cali is only liberal because of dirty minorities is pretty bogus.

You people need to stop using exit on the end of every damn independence movement, it sounded OK with brexit but not this.

It's not liberal, but decidedly illiberal, because of Mexican colonisation.

There is already a Mexico, and the entry requirements are not severe, with most relevant persons already satisfying them.

Really, now.

From the same people who would excuse or cheer a Texit no doubt.

Letting them leave is the correct thing to do. The edgy thing is not letting them take the land and fixed property with them.

The law stops mattering, though.

California follows a Realist Foreign Policy. We were against Iraq and against Syria. How does removing California's moderating influence on US Foreign Policy make Putin's job easier? I thought less risk of war was a good thing. As for it being illegal, try and stop us, if we actually decide to do it.

Nirvash Type TheEND wrote:They couldn't pick a catchier name?

We would, if 97% of us didn't oppose secession. There's only so much they can do with 3%.

Hakons wrote:Go ahead a let them secede. Then we can give them some good 'ol Union lead, or in this case, tomahawk missiles. Of course, all of that is hyperbole because it isn't strategically needed. Nevada just needs to turn off the water and South Cal will see a catastrophic loss in agriculture. The Pacific fleet just needs to form a blockade on a "nation" with no Navy, and there goes the trade with China and Japan. Fairly soon, the Californians would call for peace. Republicans would set a healthy restoration period, say 10 years, to guarantee Republican advantage in the next two presidential elections. While they're at it, they could make North Cal a state and give the Republicans a boost in the senate.

In other words, a CalExit is stupid, irrational, and would only result in an economically ruined state joining a more conservative America.

You don't think that we could build desalination plants with all of those taxpayer dollars formerly going to DC?

ChicagoBoys wrote:Good, let them leave. The nation will be better off without their debt and their minorities

Our debt is an issue? Take a look at our state's GDP. Than at the state's debt. Where's the issue?

Or we could just join them! Most of the original 13 states with DC plus some of the others with most of the jobs and culture. We could even keep the name United States , lol. The leftovers could keep Donald and call themselves Trumpland.

Oh just wait until Oregon and Washington join in and it becomes Westcoastexit.

Also, have you heard about the Celebrityexit? Quite a few of them have "threatened" to go to Canada.

A bunch of Hillary fans have also been pushing for a Electoralcollegeexit after Trump's victory.

But if you really want me too, I'll exitexit and stop adding exit to the end of everything.
