I suppose Millenials are not going to vote independent anymore. Sorry guys.

Also, shit, I really hate to say it, but only a couple of friends I have been able to talk as if nothing happened. It feels rather lonely to just talk politics and nothing personal between them.

I still blame James Comey's ambiguous letter for her narrow defeat. The timing of it's release was WAY OFF from the actual receipt of the device in question. I think it was intentional and Rudy Giuliani made that abundantly clear to the media two days before the letter's release. I believes his involvement makes it impossible for him to serve as AG. I hope and pray Trump understands this. IMO Christie is also disqualified for AG. He needs an independent Attorneys General.

Not necessarily bad, but it'll fuck those on Obamacare.

and lets states manage Medicaid funds.

Texas refused their expansion of this. Due to that, I had to go with indigent, which the state pays for anyway but it's quality is awful. The difference is that I can only see their doctors, and attend a clinic that is understaffed, underqualified, and is a renovated black hospital. To see any other doctor but theirs means I must pay full price. This here is essentially going to degrade Medicaid's quality to what I have now, because Texas isn't going to do shit with it.

I believe that too. Rudy Giuliani and Comey are idiots.

I am not hoping Comey gets the slammer in the Ethics Commission, but if he does, he deserves it.

Ooh, pick me, pick me!

Health savings accounts are boss - provided you're lower middle class or higher. However, replacing insurance with health savings accounts is about as coherent as replacing a parachute with a party balloon. Mathematically speaking, a party balloon would slow your fall if you jumped out of an airplane - supplying both lift and drag - but you're still going to die when you hit the ground.

Health savings accounts are a great supplement to health insurance, but not a replacement. A health savings account works like this:

You decide to put $3,000 into an HSA this year. You don't get sick all year. You get to deduct that $3,000 from income, which, if you make $50,000 per year (married), will save you about $600 in taxes between federal and state, depending on the state. Next year you do the same, again and again and again. You get expenses here and there, but never more than you put in. Let's say after 5 years, you have 10k you've saved up in that account. That's great!

Now you get cancer. That's bad. If you have insurance, you can use that money in your health savings account to pay for your copays and deductibles and things tax free. That's great!

If you don't have insurance, you'll blow through that $10,000 in a couple weeks. That's bad. You die of cancer. That's bad.

Now, what if you're lower class, and you don't pay income tax? Well, you can still contribute to an HSA, but it won't help you, because you have no taxable income to reduce. You'd be better off just stuffing that in an ordinary savings account that you can use for any type of emergency, not just a medical one. However, you probably won't have the money to stuff it away anyway, because you live paycheck to paycheck and the government won't raise the minimum wage.

Question: I know many employers provide healthcare insurance, or they used to before Obamacare, and they would go back to that if it is repealed. Would HSAs help provide a healthy supplement to those accounts?

Yeah. No.

If you're lucky they only blocked expansion as a Fuck You Kenyan to Obama and now that the government will be all red they'll hypocritically expand it now.

2015, the US spent 815 billion USD on defense. At current we have 2.3 million troops, 1.4 million which are deployed. A military expansion is the last thing we need.

Not necessarily bad, but it'll fuck those on Obamacare.

Yeah. No.

If you're lucky they only blocked expansion as a Fuck You Kenyan to Obama and now that the government will be all red they'll hypocritically expand it now.

Hence what I said. If I lose my care, I'm killing myself.
