True, and I mean, there's that. I can't blame independents nor Trump supporters for their vote. They voted according to what they perceived their best interests were.

Bernie Busters though just wanted to stick it to Clinton in vindictiveness against not having Bernie go into the General election. Not entirely sure how I feel about that.

Okay, people naturally can only vote based on perception, whomever they voted for. Who knows how accurate perceptions were this year though.

Pretty much how I look at it.

I have a fair number of disagreements with people here (especially on firearms) but I'm not gonna attack anyone personally.

unless you're TEM :^)

:lol2:

I, too, have a fair number of disagreements with a lot of people here, even people who I am on the same side, but personal attacks are not par for the course.

Heck, I've even gone out of my way to talk with some of the people I bitterly disagree with on the forums in private.

Trump set the tone for the election right off the bat. Now, being the beneficiary of it's reward, he needs to pull it all back in or he will fail. It's a Herculean task.

I don't usually get involved in elections. Both candidates were usually so similar in cloth that I didn't mind. I was upset about the DNC's bullshittery, but I honestly believe Trump's going to run this country into the ground. I chose Hillary off of the interest that, we weren't doing well as a country, but maybe we could limp a little longer til the next election and get someone actually worth the spot. Now with Trump's victory, I'm worried about my livelihood because I'm poor, and his plans thus far look like they may screw me. I'm also worried that his platform has validated a lot of hate on both sides, and we've ended up with a fire.

If he's a con, if we don't know what he'll do, then surely it doesn't matter what he gives two cares about(is that really a thing people say?), he'll do whatever he thinks will further his con. In fact, if he doesn't care about abortion, doesn't that make it more likely that he'll ban abortion if he thinks it'll get him a second term or whatever?

First of all he CANNOT ban abortion. At most he might be able to appoint enough judges so that abortion becomes a state rather than federal thing, and thus a few red states ban it, others restrict it, but a lot of states leave it alone and keep it legal. This is also likely because politically it makes sense. Punt the controversy to the states.

But I think you have a point about him being a con, which is why he will probably be better at this then we think. Politics is a con. It is all about exaggerating your successes and downplaying you failures. And Trump does this very well. It is all about selling yourself, and Trump does this well.

It is also all about delegation, which Trump also does well enough. The fact is that Trump turned out to be a better politician than any of us. Than Hillary even.

Fact is he will be in the Whitehouse, and we are nobodies. He is much better at politics than we are.

And because he is a con with few principles, he will probably focus on doing popular things.

Yes one can say, "did Putin not do the same things"? Or Duterte? Sure, but even though Putin and Duterte are cons, they have again been successful politicians. Much more sucesful than any of us. Fact is they know something we do not. Fact is they are better at politics than we are.

Which is why the succeed politically, while we are failures.

If you really think that Trump is going to be such a horrible President and do all those horrible things you think he is going to do, then you are proving two things: You are not a real American and you don't have a clue about what makes America tick.

FYI: I voted for Hillary Clinton but all this "death to America" stuff is offensive because by attacking my country they are attacking me and I did not even vote for Trump.

We are chimpanzees more than wolves. Not that it makes it much better. Chimpanzees sometimes act nice and cute, but are quite brutal.

We are hyper intelligent, hyper predatory apes. Just smarter, more predatory Chimps. That is what we are.

I don't think it will. Obama is still in the White House, and I'm sure he will do his best to keep this from spiraling out of control.

It'll probably be settled before calm collected leadership leaves the White House.
