Unbelievable. Here are my predictions (as if they're ever accurate anymore) for what happens next:

- Obamacare is dead, say goodbye to pre-existing conditions coverage
- NATO is dead. With NATO dead, I wouldn't put it past Russia to attempt a war or two, either in the Baltic states or an actual full invasion of Ukraine
- Supreme Court will be conservative for at least a couple of decades, this could possibly lead to a reversal of the Supreme Court's previous decisions on forcing legal abortion & same sex marriage. Could end up being a complete federal ban on both, though I think that's somewhat unlikely
- The EU is likely dead at this point, far-right populist groups in various countries will be highly energised. France is the tipping point. If Le Pen wins next year, the EU is completely dead
- The Asia pivot is dead, Chinese influence in surrounding countries will surge
- Syria will be a bloodbath. Assad is now guaranteed to eventually win
- The Paris Agreement is dead. There will be little to no action on climate change. Without the US, many countries won't be motivated to even try ("if the #1 polluter doesn't bother, why should we sacrifice our economic growth?")
- Japan will hasten its remilitarisation
- The Fed is at risk of losing its independence
- The Iran deal is dead. This means either a nuclear Iran or a war with Iran
- Every pollster and projector is probably going to lose their jobs

This will be my last post. I've come to the conclusion I need to take a long-term break from politics following everything that has happened this year. The message I've gotten is clear: Centrists are not welcome under the rise of the alt-left and alt-right. I'm out. Peace.

Not likely. Both candidates were ardently protectionist, so what it would come down to would be social values and foreign policy. As someone living in fly over country, I can confirm that we are quite conservative in those regards.

And plenty of the country is liberal in those regards. Sanders' lack of political baggage wouldn't have dragged him down like it did Clinton.
