I'm sorry CM, I've fallen to the dark side.

I'm trying to think of an area in which America has been weakened (in comparison to, say, the 90s or early 2000s), and I'm having trouble thinking of one. Mind helping a poor boy out?

Well, our sense of direction as a nation, I suppose.
It'll be a long time before trumplandia experiences the glory of LGBT rights and before then they'll be screaming about how their ages-old way of life from when humans began to become aware of their mortality is coming to an end.
The United Colonies of Earth exists:
to encourage settlement of all habitable worlds in the Galaxy and perhaps the Universe by the human race;
to ensure that human rights are respected, with force if necessary, and that all nations recognize the inevitable and unalienable rights of all human beings regardless of their individual and harmless differences, or Idiosyncrasies;
to represent the interests of all humankind to other sapient species;
to protect all humanity and its’ colonies from unneeded violence or danger;
to promote technological advancement and scientific achievement for the happiness, knowledge and welfare of all humans;
and to facilitate cooperation in the spheres of law, transportation, communication, and measurement between nation-states.

We accidently gutted our domestic military microchip manufacturer and now rely on foreigner supplied ones which are likely infected. We are rapidly approaching a multipolar world. Trump. Global warming etc.

It all depends how wide you want to go with the topic.

Can't comment on that. Don't know enough.
We are rapidly approaching a multipolar world.

We're also expanding the coalition that makes up our side of the world. China and Russia don't have jack on that, and no room to expand.
Trump.

... fair enough, though I'd argue he's just a manifestation of deep-rooted problems in American politics and culture that've been around at least since the 50s.
Global warming etc.

That's everyone's problem though. We'll all suffer from that one. More drastic for poorer nations.

You really ought to read up in the microchip one. If you want a nice hot cup of rage.

I'm on mobile atm so I can't format so nice. 3-4/5 ain't bad for a batting average.

I agree. I just never heard of this organization existing before you mentioned it. Fuck, are these chips from the Trade Secret Stealer's Republic of China?
Also, I'm surprised you listed Trump as a weak point for the country. I kinda got a sort of pro-Trump vibe from you but it appears I may have been off?

Yes, there are fears our chip supply has Chinese chips in them. fffffffffffffff

Trump the phenomenon is evidence of a weak spot that emerged which was once not there. That's to say that we had a coherent worldview. That's been thrown up in the air. I did not vote for him. Just because I can understand why other people did does not make me an automatic supporter. It pays to know your enemy.

Edit: I even went on a rant about triggering farmers be for an election and how dumb it was. This whole year has just been continual fuck ups.

Me and my friends were actually tossing around the idea of voting for Trump over Hillary, playing the long game, before he... really went off the deep end. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" and all that jazz.

I'll admit that I too thought about it. Then I took a look at his more indepth tax shit. While I hate the estate tax with a passion from an economic perspective, it was just dreaming. I couldn't vote for that in good conscience no matter my isolationist tendencies.
