Not that I've been super active in this cycle, but I definitely agree. This forum has cultivated a really strong culture of citation and substantive posting, and it dramatically improves the quality of the discourse over some other places I frequent.

You'd better believe I'm a bitter Bernie Sanders supporter. The Dems fucked up and fucked up hard. Hopefully they'll learn that neoliberalism and maintaining the status quo isn't the way to win this election or any other one. I doubt they will, though.

The Trump campaign wants the identity of the poll worker who closed the line for Nevada early voting.

What in the world?

So.. if I get this straight..

- There are long lines for voting. A waiting time of an hour is considered short.
- Politicians deliberately ensure that there are fewer polling stations in districts where most people prefer an opposing candidate
- Privacy during voting is not insured
- There is no protection against coercion

Are we*really* talking about the USA here and not some backwater dictatorship that pretends it is democratic ?

Implying the two aren't synonyms.

Depends on how the night goes. If the race is close then we'll probably know by tomorrow morning. If it isn't close then we'll probably know before midnight.

I have no idea. The Trumps campaign's lawyer seems to be demanding Clark County do what they've already been doing.

Context?

The Trump campaign filed a lawsuit against Clark County for keeping a polling station open past closing time. The reason they did this is because people were already in line. The Trump campaign lawyer seems to be demanding that Clark County keep records that were already being kept so that an investigation can be held later.

As far as I understand the first polls close somewhere around 16:00 CST, so 18:00 EST would be correct
