Three states are voting on measures relating to the death penalty.

California: Prop 62 would eliminate the death penalty entirely. Prop 66 would keep it and make it harder for death row inmates to prolong their appeals.
Nebraska: Referendum 426 would reinstate the death penalty. The death penalty was eliminated by the state last year, the governor vetoed it, and then the legislature overturned the governor.
Oklahoma: State Question 776 would amend the state constitution, guaranteeing the state has the power to execute and choose the method of execution.

So.. the news just said that Americans who voted get a sticker that entitles them to get discounts when they buy donuts or hamburgers...

Was this utter nonsense, a cheap "Americans are childish, lazy and fat, harhar" stereotype joke that ignores all the other stuff one can get with the sticker or the truth ?

It's real. A lot of places are offering free or discounted food/drinks if you vote.
