I'm okay with gerrymandering for the most part, with the caveat that the effect is temporary rather than being a permanent advantage. It makes sense from my perspective that if a party wins during a census year that they could tilt the political map very slightly to their favor. If a political party consistently wins, they get to reap the rewards of being in power. I'd expect that the Democrats would be able to do gerrymandering of their own and it isn't exclusive to Republicans.
It's not "very slightly", and I don't see why you think any degree of gerrymandering, temporary or permanent, is justifiable. You haven't actually explained your reasoning for this belief.
