If I got an offer of 50 million, I'd probably look into buying someone else's vote, and giving them enough money to buy my vote from the person I sold it to.

I'd take 5 mil over my vote any day.

The "right" to cast a piece of paper with a check-list of pre-approved choices in a box once every 4 years that will not change anything, and serves no purpose other than legitimizing the reign of a few corrupt oligarchs and their cronies. My vote will never amount to anything or change the way things are in my country. Five million bucks, on the other hand, is a fortune that would change my life a lot - not the least of which being the chance to multiply that wealth by investing it.

And if one has enough money, one doesn't need the right to vote or run for office in order to rule from behind the scenes.

I don't usually even vote by myself anyways. If I did want to vote, I would bribe other people to vote for me. With the money I have, my family and I's lifestyle would improve greatly.

Also, it's pretty obvious my vote is useless, since the majority always does the opposite. Opposite things like voting for Tories (and thus privatisation of the NHS), or to leave Europe (and thus ruining the economy in due time).
