Again he didn't "Ban" it. It was just a product of racism this EVERY Christian Faith in America had at the time. I would argue that the LDS Church was the least Racist. As said Black people could hold the priesthood up until Joseph Smith's death And have always been able to be Members of the church also when Joseph Smith ran for president one of the things he ran on was to end slavery. That was in the 1844 quite a revolutionary thought.

Least racist? Oh, do explain.

you need to learn the difference between non-Christians and Christian heretics. the Mormons most certainly follow jesus Christ but they don't follow the creed.

So, are Muslims also Christians?

I don't know anything about islam and following jesus.

From what I know about Islam(and I know very little) I think the muslims believe that Christ is not the Messiah and that he is nothing but a minor prophet. And yet, they also teach that prophets don't lie. So, Christ saying that he is the Messiah would've lied. Again that's all I know, we could always ask a Muslim to come in this thread and clear this up.

Muslims believe that Christ was the messiah and a prophet who lived a miraculous life. The major differences with Christianity are that they don't believe Jesus was God and that he never claimed to be. They are Unitarian. They also don't believe that Jesus died on the cross, but only that Allah tricked everyone into thinking that he did (ironically starting the single biggest heresy in history and condemning billions to hell).

Ah. That clears all the confusion in my head now. Thanks.

They believe Jesus was Isa however they don't believe in any of his teachings as they believe the whole Bible was disformed and thus everything that Jesus said in the Bible he didn't actually say so they don't actually believe in any teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. Which makes them an Aberhamic Religion not Christian ;)

Also all questions and quote about the musical...I don't agree with the musical because it pulls it off like the producers and directors aren't misrepresenting anything when they are. A LOT. Anyway my church made the best of the situation and bought ad space saying things like "You've seen the play now read the book." And actually there are a couple conversion stores that came out of this some people saying quote: "I heard the play's point of view and thought I should hear the Mormons point of view too."

I've had mixed impressions from Mormons. The girl I worked with when I was a manager was a Mormon -- she was awesome though. But I remember when I was younger, my dad bought the Book of Mormon because he was curious what was so different about it, and they would not leave us alone until he finally just gave them the book back.

All of the Mormon missionaries I met on my campus were very polite, very cheerful guys. Had a very pleasant conversation with them one day. :)

Muslims maintain that they have the true understanding of Christ's teachings, that Christians follow a corrupted version, and that Christ will return at the end of time to lead Allah's armies.

This is something I've seen a lot in praise of Mormons, but there's more to being a good person than being chipper. I'd rather know a grumpy, tolerant bastard than a courteous, discrimination-espousing bastard. But then, I quite like grumpy people.

#notallmormons, of course, but on the institutional level...

My grandmother acts like the nicest most kind-hearted person that you could ever meet when she's in Church. But if you're not white -- expect her to talk shit about you the very moment she leaves.

My great-uncle's the opposite. He perfectly fits the stereotype of the grumpy uncle. At family reunions he sits around complaining about the children and being generally irritable, but when I came out to the extended family he sent me the sweetest e-mail in support.

Maybe he is closet gay? Fear of persecution xplains his bad mood?
