Triclavianism seems rather...Unimportant and nit-picky?

What does it matter how many nails were used in Jesus's crucifixion?

For tattooed evangelicals it does

Honestly, they could have only spread for as long as they didn't piss off the powers that be. The powers that be being the Catholic Church and the Monarchies that supported it.

Which, as we know historically, didn't last very long when they murdered a Papal Legate meant to negotiate and debate with them.

I am curious as to where you went?

More or so for curiosity rather than questioning your credibility.

OK, so, I have a few serious questions here.

1) I am an Atheist. Will I go to hell?

2) Do you believe the Pope is a direct line to God's views and opinions?

3) If #2 was yes, do you believe God supported the Nazis (The Catholic Pope allied the Church with them).

4) If #2 was no, why not?

DEMONSTRABLY FALSE. Pope Pius XII was actively after Hitler's head.

Very well. I waive that claim, and would ask a question in the place of those three.

Some people would say everyone will burn in hell doesn't matter if you are an atheist or not.

1) Nobody but God has authority to speak on who will or will not go to heaven. Though without faith in Christ you will be reliant on Extaordinary Means as opposed to the Ordinary Means.

#2) That's a gross over simplification of the role of the Papacy.

#3) No they didn't, Pope Pious XII failed to castigate Hitler, but they did not support Hitler. In fact German Catholics near unanimously opppsed Hitler's election. The Catholics and Nazis never got along.

#4) Because no doctrine has ever professed that.

I already waived that claim, that the Pope supported the Third Reich, due to the above, provided information.

Thank you for your opinion, upon whether or not I will, if it so exists, go to Heaven. I would, however, like to ask what you mean by "Extraordinary Means".

Catholics have a view of salvation called the Ordinary Means whixh is the traditional through Christ alone salvation. You must believe and have faith in Christ and be Baptized in his name etc etc.

However there's also the notion that God can do what ever he wants and isn't bound necessarily to this system. So anyone who receives salvation outside the traditional methods, does so through "extraordinary means"

So can Atheists go to heaven? Yes, but through alternative methods than Christians do.

1. It depends. God will save people with whatever He can, but active decided rebellion is not something that will count favorably.
2. Complicated.

From a Non-Denom Reformed perspective--

Re:1 Probably. God saves us in spite of ourselves. It is not because we say some magic words, it is because he has given us the grace to believe in His Son. Some of us he has saved kicking and screaming into the Kingdom in spite of our wanting to disbelieve. As long as you have breath there is hope that you may be saved. Regardless, all that the Father has given to his Son, none will be lost.

Re:2 No.

Re:3 N/A

Re4: I do not want to start an argument as I respect most of the peops on this thread. To make is short, I firmly believe that Jesus Christ fulfilled the offices of the OT priesthood and as our High Priest has created a priesthood of all believers; and that the See of Rome is but one amongst many Patriarchs and church leaders called to submit under the One Eternal Headship of Jesus Christ.

Can someone explain to me exactly what the differences in Chalcedonian, Nestorian and Coptic Christology are? I get the "One nature which is a mix of divine and human" and "One divine nature only" and "Two, separate natures" concept, but I have no idea how that works. At all.

I'm not sure being an atheist counts as "active decided rebellion." In order to actually knowingly rebel against God you would have to belive in Him.
