Halfway through today's solemn mass for the assumption of the virgin Mary, the power went out. It's a small church in Texas. In August. Probably technically packed past the point the fire department would consider acceptable. I was serving, so at least I got a lot of incense, and it didn't smell quite so bad.

The more Nazi-ish White supremacists (ignoring the pseudo-Pagan variety) are probably operating on old European ideas of blood libel and the view of Jews as Christ killers.

I know it's difficult to reconcile these with modern mainstream Christianity, but we should keep in mind that these two views of Christianity (especially the second one) are very popular historically. Most Christians in Europe would have held some version of them from about the High Middle Ages on. The Catholic Church only repudiated the charge of deicide in 1964.

It seems to have been organized (this current iteration of the KKK) using Pike's rulebook "Morals and Dogmas" (different from the Scottish Rite book of the same name) that considers the Bible as a part of the furniture of their lodge (constructs of straightedge and compass) for the purpose of emanation to reveal the Great Architect blah blah blah. Its use is to bind their followers to conscience and to make oaths to the Klan more 'authoritative and binding'" for their ceremonies (and acceptable to the dominant religion) as they practice their "craft," iirc. (I haven't read it since Middle School--it was 500+ pages of pseudo-Christian arcane mumbo-jumbo typical of most Lodge "scripture" (Masons, Oddfellows, Pythians et. al.) and I ended up just skimming through most of it.)

The key point of distinction (from other secret groups loosely following the lodge system of organization) is their "ministrations" to protect the supposed racial and moral purity of Christianity against "the seed of Cain" whom they presume to be black skinned people as espoused by their other writings. Their existence is incumbent upon a parasitic and predatorial reliance on the ignorance and good will of those who practice or claim to practice Christianity. Ironically, Jews and Muslims (or any group who believe in a One Supreme Divine Power) can form their own chapters of the KKK (in their own respective lands of course) which is absurdly laughable.

Jesus made it very clear to hate others is to not know God. Those who do what Jesus Christ forbade in His name are in for a rude send-off. Many will say in that day, Lord... and he will say to them depart from me (into outer darkness)... I never knew you. Loving God; loving one another; and treating others like you yourself would want to be treated is the hallmark of Christian character.

Jesus was Jewish, we know, but middle easterners have sufficient variety in appearance that he could have looked vaguely italian like in all those depictions. Granted, it's not particularly likely, but it is possible.
