International airports, as a whole, are vastly more impressive than third-world airports of the same class.
If you compare US airports built decades ago to airports of developing countries of the same time period. They're constantly building new ones in Latin America for example. Ecuador's new airport looks pretty great and Mexico City's will be the busiest when it's finished in 2020. Meanwhile, Atlanta International, our busiest is, not great.
