This smells a lot like Daesh to me, but then again, NY and indeed the US at large is on a lot of shit lists. This pattern looks a bit like the probes we used to deal with. One IED goes, then they watch how we react. If the responders (or maybe a crowd running away) get close to the secondary, they set it off and hit them to cause more damage. Hard to say- I'd have to see what the investigators have. It looks like they tried scaring a crowd towards a second IED and it backfired, so they bailed.

I'm not a New Yorker, but NY makes it easy by numbering their streets and avenues. 23rd and 27th street aren't that close together that one bomb would "herd" people to the other bomb.

We'll know soon enough I think. The bomber didn't cover his tracks much at all and there's an unexploded device to boot.

No. No one credible has taken credit for the NYC or NJ bombings.

In combination with how ineffectual both attacks were, this suggests an amateur, possibly some random mentally ill person with no actual motive beyond harming others for the sake of it.

Sorry, but when I compare this list (~44 attacks on US soil according to WND, which we all know has a bias here) with this list (which is worth noting is incomplete and Afghanistan only) lists coalition victories in the 50 range, with many unaccounted for and likely hundreds of small firefights unmarked.

Seems like Mr. Trump is full of shit.

E: Also worth noting I didn't include Insurgent attacks that were successfully beaten back or stopped, so the number is probably higher still.
