Huh. So I was right, Mormons really are trying to ditch Trump. Does that mean Utah will go blue?

Yer funny. :lol2:

I don't know anything about this. But I would think Alien Space Bats would create that as a separate thread seeing as they love data and politics.

ASB created this thread.
You'd better believe I'm a bitter Bernie Sanders supporter. The Dems fucked up and fucked up hard. Hopefully they'll learn that neoliberalism and maintaining the status quo isn't the way to win this election or any other one. I doubt they will, though.

I doubt it. This will probably just convince a lot of people in Utah to not vote, vote 3rd party, etc. Utah will probably get closer, but I highly doubt a Clinton win.

A thumpin' then

I'm not sure if this was a rule, but I'd suggest that if two posters guess the same (correct) outcome, but one of them lists every state correctly while the other just gives the total, the former poster should "win".

EDIT: My first punt: Landslide for Clinton

375 Clinton (as per map, the blue in Nebraska is NE-2)
163 Trump

Here goes. I expect Trump to self destruct even more from now to Election Day.

How about each person submits their prediction, along with the percentages of each state's results. So if two or more users predict the same outcome, which I'm sure will happen since there are plenty of people here who aren't Trump/Bernie hacks, then the one who guesses the percentages the closest to the actual results wins.

This plus you have to name at least twelve actual people in each state and predict their votes. The tie-breaker can be guessing their weight.

I love contests but I'm not sure there's enough variability here to make it really interesting. Have it it, though.

I really want to make a thread for the prediction thing. Any suggestions?

Or is someone else already making one?

That makes it harder. Which is good for the contestants, but ...
I'm trying to get my head around how the judge decides which is closer.
I guess, maybe, number of states poster A was closer in, versus number of states poster B was closer in?
But shouldn't people be penalized for being wildly wrong, while being given partial credit for being close?
Total of all margins maybe. How many points they were wrong by in each of the 50 states and DC, added together.

That's not a problem. I posted first

Just checking Alaska wasn't a mistake. Some people do it by setting the whole map blue first, then they forget Alaska.

I mean, I really miss the days where if something like Trump's video came out he'd get like 30% of the vote.

The "Bernie would win in a landslide!" people. I saw plenty of them in the primaries. Polar opposite of the "Trump will win in a landslide!" people and it was funny to watch them debate.

And why not both? You would have to not only predict the winner of each state, since multiple people predicting the correct electoral college map is pretty common, but would have to predict both the popular vote and the percentages of each state. Whoever predicts all the states correctly and has their PV prediction and state result predictions the closest to the actual results win.
