If you want an extremely talented player at a position where most teams need two players to find any sort of success you've got to be willing to pay up. But, the Steelers didn't want to do that, but they still wanted him to play for them; fair enough. Except now he's pissed because he's playing for a team that has shown it wants him at a rate lower than the one he finds acceptable. I don't like it when paid players sit, but you can't have your cake and eat it too.
That’s more than most RB’s or WR’s in the NFL get paid per year.

This. Precisely this. It's not as if they aren't willing to pay the man big time. They just didn't get up to the ridiculous number he wants. The amount they were willing to pay was already nuts. Dude just needs to take his ego down about 12 notches.

It would be a shame to lose that kind of talent. Make no mistake, this guy is really, really good. But his head is about the size of a mid-sized planet right now. At least he's made it clear it's all about the money. If you're sitting out when it counts, you're not really a true competitor. Thanks for your contributions guy, but you've overstayed your welcome.

Damn right. The guy is in Terrell Owens territory now.

Lumi the is Leveon frikkin Bell. He's a top 3 back, in my opinion the best back, in the NFL.
Personally, I say offer him a short, 2-3 year deal with the money he wants. If he doesn't take it, alright, bye, or don't give him a ton of guaranteed money past those 2-3 years.

Problem is the Steelers need to pay for a defensive line.

Heyward and Tuitt, their two top guys on the interior, are under contract through 2021 and 2022, respectively, while Javon Hargrave was selected in 2016, so they have him through 2018. Those three are all very strong, run stuffing-pocket pushers, and Heyward turned into a sack machine on the interior last season. 12 sacks? That's insane from his position. They do need to find a solid edge rusher though.

Bell needs to suck it up and stop being a whiny little baby. True Steelers' franchise stars don't do that- Hines Ward didn't go up and be a crybaby, nor did Polamalu.Ranoria wrote:Heyward and Tuitt, their two top guys on the interior, are under contract through 2021 and 2022, respectively, while Javon Hargrave was selected in 2016, so they have him through 2018. They need more linebackers than anything, esp. since that crying baby Harrison left for Cheatriots and Shazier got injured by none other than a bunch of irrelevant thugs in Bengals.
Their DL I haven't been concerned about for last few years, so it's LBs and definitely defensive backs they need to improve on.

Ranoria wrote:Question: Who's the better player? Von Miller or Khalil Mack?
Honestly, as a pure edge rusher, I say Von Miller. He consistently beats out Mack in terms of sacks, and while an argument could be made that 'he has a bunch of time' to get those sacks due to the secondary, that's not Miller's game. He's a speed rusher. As a coverage man, I would say Von. But despite all this, I would take Khalil Mack over Von, call me crazy.
Well, for one, Mack does get about 15 more tackles on a yearly basis than Miller, but that's not huge. I think, to me, just the eye test, Mack is the better player. Don't get me wrong, Von Miller looks amazing, too, but when I watch Von, if he gets caught by the OL, he seems to have trouble shaking them. Mack, it doesn't matter, he's just so freakishly strong, and he he disrupts every play, run or pass, that he's in it seems like. I remember watching them play Tennessee week 1 of 2017 and Mack beat Jack Conklin (who was coing off an All Pro rookie campaign) a half dozen times to the inside. It was absurd.
Opinions, comments, etc?

I've been a fan (of an NFC team, but I follow the entire league) for a few years, but I rarely have had the urge to watch an AFC team versus an AFC team when I can't watch my favourite team. Half the conference doesn't matter, and eventually the entire AFC side of the playoffs comes down to 'who gets to be beaten by the Patriots this year'. And that's not a complaint about the Patriots at all, they've found a way to be this dominant in a league that favours parity, and that's an amazing feat. Just... please make other AFC teams as competitive, or at least make the AFC worth to watch again. It's come to the point where I just don't care about the AFC at all, and that's a shame, because the Jaguars, Titans, Texans, Chargers, Chiefs, Steelers, and Ravens are seriously fun teams. I hope the Steelers can challenge the Patriots, and the Jaguars or Texans can get there consistently as well.
Which NFC team is yours? Does it happen to be the Vikings?
