Comes as a shock to me, but will help with cap down the road, plus we'll be getting some draft picks...hopefully a first for a top cornerback like peters is.

Ranoria wrote:Mock, 1.0: Wip, still1: Cleveland Browns: QB Baker Mayfield
-For all the Sam Darnold talk, Baker Mayfield showed us the most this fall by far. He is the most explosive playmaker at the quarterback position in this class, according to the tape, and Cleveland fans will love it. This isn't a staff that will be afraid to draft him because of the Manziel bust.
2: New York Giants: OT, Mike McGlinchey
-The Giants need a running back, yes, but more than that they need a tackle. You can talk all you want about a quarterback, but Eli is still the man, and with Odell making his return, getting a tackle that would allow Beckham's deep ball threat skills to be exploited is fervent right now. The Giants are in win now mode, and this on its own could steer them in the right direction.
3: Indianapolis Colts: RB Saquon Barkley
-This is nothing short of a godsend for Indianapolis. As much as I love Frank Gore, no one they have on the roster is a franchise back. Barkley is a sure fire pick. Even behind a mediocre Colts offensive line, with or without Andrew Luck, Barkley can produce something for this offense. And if Luck is on the field, this will return Indy to one of the best attacks in the national football league.
4: Cleveland Browns: FS Minkah Fitzpatrick
-Fitzpatrick would be the second safety the Browns have drafted in the last two years in the first round, but Fitzpatrick is a much better coverage man than Peppers ever was, and drafting Fitzatrick would allow Peppers to play in his in-the-box, comfortable setting, drastically altering the production of this defense.
5: Denver Broncos: QB Sam Darnold
-Id on't think that Kirk Cousins is going to Denver, and the Broncos need a quarterback, badly. I don't like Darnold at all, but everyone else seems to be high on him. If John Elway happens to be high on him as well, then there you have it.
6: New York Jets: QB Josh Rosen
-He's the best pure passer in the draft. My only flaw with Rosen is that he needs to put on some bulk. I don't care how strong you are, at less than one eighty, in the NFL, a corner can take you down and break your collarbone. But the guy can put the ball in the air, and give Fitzgerald a chance to make some plays.
7: Tampa Bay Buccaneers: EDGE Bradley Chubb, NC State
-The Bucs had a grand total of 22 sacks this season. In case you didn't know, that's a pathetic total. Gerald McCoy, a DT led the team in sacks with 6. As awesome as that is for him, this defense has the pieces to be much better if they can get to the quarterback. Chubb is an athletic freak, and while I think that LSU's Arden Key is a fit for their locker room, Chubb is a sure-fire stud.
8: Chicago Bears: CB Denzel Ward
-Kyle Fuller became a nice player this season, and Prince Amukamura, as always, was a ridiculously under appreciated cover man who wasn't a weak point, didn't create too many turnovers, and basically just did his job, but Chicago wants a younger ball hawk in the secondary, a 'cat' as Stephen A Smith would say. Denzel Ward should be able to come in and immediately upgrade the secondary as an elite cover man and a ball hawk.
9: San Francisco 49ers: OG Quenton Nelson
The 49ers defense is in decent shape, so why not get some help for their franchise quarterback? Nelson is a mauler in the run game and he can pass protect as well. This should be an improvement for the 49ers offense.
10: Oakland Raiders: Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia
-The Raiders defense sucked in 2017. Smith is excellent in coverage, and he fits the new mold for linebackers: Slightly undersized, good in coverage, fast, and hard-hitting. He was the anchor for what everyone can agree was a stifling Bulldogs defense this season. With Novorro Bowman as a tutor, expect this guy to be a stud at the next level.
11: Miami Dolphins: OT Connor Williams, Texas
-Williams is arguably as strong a prospect as McGlinchey, but an injury-riddled campaign lowered his stock. Drafting Williams would allow the Dolphins to bump Laremy Tunsil back into guard, where he performed significantly better as a rookie, and would give the Fins two first rounders on the offensive line.
12: Cincinnati Bengals: Orlando Brown, OT, Oklahoma
-Too bad the top three OL prosects in the draft already got taken, but the Bengals have a drastic need at offensive tackle after giving Andrew Whitworth, who performed well in his age 35-season for the Rams, his walking papers. Brown should be a building block for the offensive line in the future.
13: Washington Redskins: Arden Key, EDGE, LSU
Hear me out. Trent Murphy is leaving, Johnathan Allen will be back on the inside after playing only five games, and Arden Key would give explosive, underrated rusher Ryan Kerrigan one hell of a running mate, as well as a youngster to take his place once the 29-year-old rusher starts to fall off. The Redskins need some star power on defense,
and who better than Key?
14: Green Bay Packers: CB Josh Jackson, Iowa
Mike Hughes was an option here as well, but based on their drafting of Kevin King last season, I think they'll stick with their trend of taking big, athletic corners. Jackson is a ball-hawk, and his size should give the Packers a pair of imposing corners on the outside with King's return.
15: Arizona Cardinals: QB Josh Allen, Wyoming
-A sure fire bust imo, but he sure does have one hell of an arm, and the Cardinals badly need a quarterback.
16: Baltimore Ravens: WR Calvin Ridley, Alabama
-I've heard a lot about Ridley being a low first round high second round guy, but there are two factors here. For one, the Ravens are desperate for some playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. Secondly, the last two big name receiver prospects to come out of Alabama were sure-fire stars Amari Cooper and Julio freaking Jones. So I figure Ozzie Newsome will take his chances here.
17: Los Angeles Chargers: SS Derwin James
-The Chargers have a nice seconary going, and James could be the icing on the cake, as well as the Cherry on top, to harken back to the days of enforcer Rodney Harrison.
He could be that guy, that enforcer in the middle, and that's what I expect him to be.
18: Seattle Seahawks: CB Mike Hughes, UCF
-Seattle is rebuilding their once-vaunted secondary. Shaquil Griffin was a great hit for them, and hopefully Hughes will be, as well. I'd love for them to take a tackle here, but the big-name prospects are all gone.
19: Dallas Cowboys: DT Vita Vea
The Cowboys offense should get back on track with Elliot back in 2018, and having Vea in there along with everyone else should make their defensive front one hell of a unit. Vea is an athletic freak at his size, and will disrupt in his own right whilst Demarcus Lawrence wreaks havoc.
20: Detroit Lions: Raashan Evans, LB, Alabama
-The Lions have the worst linebacking core in the national football league. It's terrible. So Evans should help alleviate that particular ailment.
21: Buffalo Bills: Da'Ron Payne, DT, Alabama
Three first rounders out of Alabama this season, it looks like. Payne is a monster, and should easily step in and replace Marcell Dareus, and he has all the upside that last year's Johnathan Allen did...without the injury concerns.
22: Buffalo Bills: Billy Price, C, Ohio State
-This is OSU's second first rounder this year, and Price, at center, should be able to step in and replace retired center Eric Woods without a problem. The Bills fill pressing needs at the interior of both sides of the line in the draft.
23: Los Angeles Rams: Marcus Davenport, EDGE, Texas-San Antonio
-I'm very high on Davenport. The guy's a strong, edge defender who's disruptive against the run and productive against the pass. Gives the Rams a guy who can replace,
or complement, a washed-up Robert Quinn, and some legit disruptive presence to aide Aaron Donald. Expect this guy to have a 9+sack campaign under Wade Philips.
24: Carolina Panthers: RB Derrius Guice, LSU
-I'm betting that the Panthers will hope for more production out of 2017 2nd round pick Curtis Samuel, and instead get their early down runner to avoid making Christian McCaffrey their workhorse back.
25: Tennessee Titans: James Daniels, C, Iowa
-The Titans need help along the interior OL after their three starters their fell off in 2017 despite a great 2016 campaign. Daniels would give the Titans a grand total of 3 1st rounders on the OL. Important to note, if they go forward with Henry, they have to have a good interior OL, because Henry needs time to get the wheels churning.

I highly doubt my Panthers will be making that move. This just in, we have released our top-tier safety Kurt Coleman and one our DL Charles Johnson, who had great numbers this past season. So really our biggest needs are Safetys and DL. DL for sure as there have been rumors of the Panthers not re-sign one of our DTs Star Lotulelei who has been our starter these past 3-5 seasons. Another thing would be our passing game. We do see some light with Devin Funchess and Damien Byrd. Though I think a perfect first-round fit for us would be Texas A&M's Christian Kirk or Oklahoma State's James Washington. I think we could find Jonathan Stewart's replacement through free agency, though he isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so we really shouldn't be worried about RBs right now.

At least Tebow can take his career crashing and burning like a man.
Of course, the SEC Network and minor league baseball gigs help ease the pain...
