I see why Brady gets his contract negotiated down many seasons so Bill can do what he needs with the roster. I think Bill knows he could get the Pats there without Tom. Especially if Bill can make a 2nd or 3rd string QBs look so good. We shall never know what would transpire if Brady went to play for another team... and that's very good for Tom.

Belichick was the Jets HC for one day. What if Tom Brady was the Jet QB for one game versus a decent team (not the same day Belichick was coach). What would happen in that game? Speculation?

Back in the 90s, Brett Favre was the be-all end-all QB with many a sports-minded lady a'swoonin'. At the end of his career, he ended up playing for one of the Packers' hated divisional rivals in Minnesota. I wonder if Brady would ever death-grip his career like that and play for the Jets.

I would hope not, while I do not doubt that Brady has a desire to play for as long as he can, I would think he would rather enjoy a long retirement prior to becoming an executive of some sort with New England.
