Win-win, really. Or lose-lose, but who wants to see it like that? :)

Lose-lose. Only way that could be worse is if they smited me.

That being said, I think the Patriots will win 31-28. I just don't think Atlantas defense is good enough to stop Tom Brady and his offense.

If the Falcons defense harasses Brady like they did Rodgers (who is quite mobile), it's gonna be a long day for Tommy Boy.

Tom Brady doesn't hold the ball like Rodgers either. If Vic and company can get to him consistently, sure, Falcons are taking home the Lombardi, but that's an 'if.' Remember what happened last time the top scoring defense played the top scoring offense in the Super Bowl? Seattle beat Denver 43-8.

I think our O lines up better against their D than vice versa. Key will be to get an early lead which will force Atlanta to get a little more risky early on.
But they probably won't be copying the Pittsburgh Bumblebees and their zone D.
I do not support Donald J. Trump

The United States of America has been in a state of dire distress since November 8, 2016. Flying the flag upside down is not only our right, it is our duty!

Old man Manning at QB in the cold weather is what I remember. Plus if you think the Pats D is akin to the 2013 Legion of Boom, well, I have to say it's really not all that. That D was awesome.
Falcons have better team speed which is gonna be a factor. Meanwhile on offense Matt Ryan will keep doing his thing and he has better receivers on the whole to do it with.

Historically, the number one scoring offense has fallen against the number one scoring defense in the big game. :P
Offense may get you to the Super Bowl, but defense wins championships.

Sorry Tiami, but that's not the entire story! Seven games fall into this category.

I guess you'd want to forget SB XXIV, the greatest slaughter EVER in SB History which was inflicted upon the #1 defense in the league.
Joe Montana has 5 TD passes. The #1 Offense, 49er's 55-10, over Denver's #1 Defense.

One of those games was Scott Norwood missed FG win for the NY Giants 20-19 in SB XXVI. Difference in the game was a kick that went wide by a foot. Happenstance.
SB XIII was another close game, Steelers over the Cowboys 35-31. Top D gave up 31 that day, but they did indeed lose a close one aided by a circus catch by Lynn Swann.
Another was SB I which the stats are probably not accurate as the AFL Chiefs never played a game in the NFL. Those are AFL rankings. So toss that one out of the pile as a comparison of apples and oranges.

So, it's not really some ominous overpowering statistic, especially considering the 55-10 beatdown. That being said, it's surely better to be on your statistical side of it. But let's face it, New England's D just isn't up there with those #1 defenses that beat #1 offenses. They aren't the 1991 Giants or the 1970s Steelers and especially not the Legion of Boom. OTOH, Atlanta's offense just might be good enough to put up enough points to beat the Pats so I don't have to shut up, lol. We'll see. ;)

I have decided to set myself up for a win-win situation for Super 51.

As a Pats fan, I obviously want them to win, and think they will too.

But, I am also working on convincing myself that I would be quite happy if the Birds take their first ever...

so, win-win...sort of...

Let's go Falcons!

However, I suspect the Pats will win. I can only hope I'm wrong.

288 yards and 2 TDs. He had a very good game. Not an all time performance like Jerry Rice breaking the single game receiving yards record.

I think his claim would be more to the season he had to get them there as well as really the heroism aspect of bringing a franchise that had struggled beforehand its first super bowl championship.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco: Super Bowl XLVII (2012 season)
Broncos RB Terrell Davis: Super Bowl XXXII (1997 season)
Dolphins RB Larry Csonka: Super Bowl VIII (1973 season)

The only player from the 21st Century to make the top ten of the list is the Raven's Joe Flacco. lmao.

Joe Flacco? For real? I mean no disrespect to your Ravens, but dang. I don't understand how he's anywhere near that high on the list.

Easy. He had a great game. 22/33, 287 yards, 3 TDs , 0 ints. Simple. I bet you didn't watch it! :p

Doug Williams at #4 is the one most folks go "who?" But he went nuts in that game and the Redskins put up a 35 point second quarter after going in down 10-0. Best quarter any team has ever had.
