I don't want to disappoint you, but orders are up in my day job. When one is a domestic producer of something that requires no imports foreign competitors look rather more expensive these days. So far the Brexit vote has been good to me. It would have to be the mother of all recessions if there is one before overall things were worse.

Incedentally this post referendum bounce was not something I really expected before the vote. Maybe I was listening to the experts more than I should have done over the consequences.

ah well, there's always the chance that price increases will continue and people will be less willing to shill out for luxury goods.
ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

So can someone give me a rundown of British politics? Maybe you can give me an explanation of what the court's decision may mean. Also why the Daily Mail hurts my brain.

The High Court ruling means that the government cannot activate article 50, the means by which a country leaves the EU, unless they pass it through Parliment first.

It's a basic tenant of the British system which stipulates only Parliment can repeal acts - which is exactly what would have to happen.

Naturally the nutritiously over the top press threw a hissy fit.

Tell that to the currency traders pricing it in already.

Though if you refer to the second half that is semi facetious about public trust.

looking at how may has utterly failed at talking to the EU and india thus far do you have any real confidence this won't be a disaster?

I haven't really read any in a while (stopped reading them after the brexit, was just too depressing) but The Times and The I are pretty good, The Mail is toxic, despite it sometimes matching my politics the Guardian is actually fairly bad, all be it not as bad as the Mail. As for why the mail is so shit, it's a British tradition to run the country through moral panics, the Mails a vital part of that process.

So your confirmed for a Daily Mail writer then? A nice stable job I'm sure. Always more panic to be had in the scary modern world after all.

You mean the EU paid the Queen to talk to MI5 about assassinating Diana to stop her from keeping the wave of Muslim rape gangs from swarming through the Channel Tunnel. I think that was the last version of events I read in the Express, but that was some moons ago.

It's only the broadsheet and compact press. The Independent is already gone, and The Guardian is kept afloat by charity.

My impression is that we will receive a quicker and better trade deal with Trump than Clinton. Hope that polls being unreliable becomes an international phenomenon.
