I read somewhere that Scotland wouldn't even qualify, fiscally, to join the European Union and that it may not gain the approval of all the current members, like Italy and Spain. Do y'all know if there is any truth to that? Not to say this is the only reason people may want an independent Scotland, but it seems Scotland may be left out of the European Union for the foreseeable future, unless the United Kingdom as a whole turns around on this.
