Like all that physical exertion in pistol shooting?

Perhaps we need someone like Wittgenstein, to help us decide what is a sport and what is a game.

Crimes committed by Muslims will be a pan-Islamic plot and proof of Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of loners who do not represent their belief system at all.
The probability of one's participation in homosexual acts is directly proportional to one's public disdain and disgust for homosexuals.
If a political figure makes an accusation of wrongdoing without evidence, odds are probable that the accuser or an associate thereof has in fact committed the very same act, possibly to a worse degree.

A far sight better than watching Olympic golf.

I'm gonna take that to mean that a supplier cant provide all of the necessary equipment, only a part of it, because any other interpretation wouldn't make sense, given the usage of, say, shinguards from Adidas, or clothing from Underarmor in football.

That's just sponsorship. You don't need shinguards from Adidas or clothing from Underarmor to play football.

But we're still skirting the issue. CS:GO is proprietary and the code is closed off - that means results can't be independently verified and audited, plus the standards and mechanics are entirely at the discretion of Valve which can be changed at any time for any reason, without us even realizing.

I strongly believe if an ESPORT is to become an Olympic sport, it would need to be non proprietary and open source.

I have to agree. Just because Rawlings is the "official supplier" of baseballs for Major League Baseball, MLB isn't going to shut down if Rawlings goes out of business because they can just start using Spalding baseballs instead.

On the flip side, a professional Grand Theft Auto League would be unable to exist if Rockstar Games closed up shop and stopped producing GTA games.

Yup. Property of (depending on the outcome of an ongoing lawsuit) either Bruce Kirby or LaserPerformance.

That depends on rate of fire.

Personally, I'd like to see the Mad Minute as an Olympic shooting event...

Merizoc wrote:So NSG, thoughts on this? Will/Should we ever see esports at the Olympics?

I think esports certainly deserve a place there - but they belong at the Paralympics, not the main event. As the Paralympics already caters to those with restricted general physical ability, but extraordinary ability in specific tasks.
Those who don't remember history, are blessed to believe anything is possible when they're repeating it.
