I'd say thats more the exception than the rule. After all how often are stories of abusive parents retold revolving around the same circumstances. It'd just be overall better if they were born to liberal parents or some of the republicans that are legit ok with it. Not being used to convert previously bigoted parents.

Or more often than not they just reject the child, react extremely poorly and perhaps even in ways that damage the child's emotional or physical well-being, and blame the "horrible lifestyle choice" of their child, and the reason "their child is going to hell", on modern society, and say that their child was deceived or influenced into being homosexual or transgender, either by exposure to LGBT+ people, some form of trauma making them such, or by demonic influences taking hold of them, and thus cement their views of it even more.

Its getting better thankfully, but it isn't even any assurance whatsoever that they'll budge, especially if they feel strongly on the matter like the sections of the Republicans and Social Conservatives that support these sorts of perspectives.

If your gay and can't marry and bone your spouse, then you don't get to live a full life like a straight person. So no, Francis sucks on LGBT issues universally even if he is nicer to listen to then Benedict.
