That's great! Really happy for her! Its great to see not only a woman in the clergy, but also an LGBT+ woman to boot!![]()
I was referring to the more mainstream sects of Christianity however, and particularly Catholicism, but its great to hear that progress and celebration of all of human diversity, is being celebrated in some sects.
Looking at the numbers now, apparently the United Church of Canada is the biggest denomination in the country after Catholicism. Huh.
In any case, I know that internationally, such liberal denominations are far less populous. And while the Pope is a huge improvement on his predecessors, I still wish he were a bit more progressive. Ah, well, at least there are Catholics who don't always agree with the official Church doctrine.

What do you mean you disapprove?
Disapprove referring a to my opinion which is, I don't think is should be done, this by no means indicates that I will try to stop them from doing it, if brought up in a vote I would vote for it to be allowed rather then outlawed, my sense of liberty overrides my emotions on the matter.
Well, that's pretty reasonable, at least.
I think that you might be interested, still, to read some of the literature regarding transgender identity. The overwhelming consensus in the medical and psychological community is that transition should be pursued by any person who experiences gender dysphoria in any way. The alternative is frequently depression and anxiety; which are, admittedly, common among people who have undergone transition as well -- not because of gender dysphoria, as is the case for pre-transition people, but rather because of widespread transphobia. The key difference is that for pre-transition people, the only way for their psychological condition to improve is through transition; whereas for post-transition people, the thing we have to fix is societal attitudes surrounding trans people.
If you'd like to do some reading, you might start by looking at WPATH's publications, or by reading books by Julia Serano and Kate Bornstein. You might also be able to find some relevant books at your local library.
