Is There Really a Rape Culture?

There is a real "rape culture."
It exists in the world of pornography; not the whole thing by any means, but there is a part of it that embraces violent sex acts. There is also sex trafficking culture.

Outside of that though, there is sex, a lack of self control, and blatant idiocy. It's not the patriarchy's fault if you get drunk, willingly go home with a guy, and wake up with regrets. The lack of personal responsibility and self control in this society is simply astonishing.

Shh no you can't promote any degree of self awareness, mindfullness of one's surroundings or basic safety, that's victim blaming or something i'unno.

Alright, what happened to them is terrible. But the first thing I thought when I read this, was why are girls as young as 14 or 15 drinking alcohol (to the point of passing out) at an irresponsible teenage house party anyway?

I'm not victim blaming but that is

Now y'see I could go down the route of hating the patriarchy, calling out internalised misogyny in society, and sprout a load of other feminist buzzwords. But to ignore the irresponsibility of how they found themselves in that situation to start is almost akin to supporting the 14-15 year old girls being in that situation in the first place.

Which is a disaster waiting to happen, however you look at it.
