I never did catch the series finale and I can't find it anywhere online. :(

If you're in the US, or can hunt down a proxy, it should be on Hulu.

It's not. :(

Meh, I can take it or leave it. If I HAD to choose between Seth McFarlane shows, it'd be American Dad first, Cleveland Show Second and Family Guy last. However, American Dad is the only one that has any really difference than the other two.

Jumping the shark.

Cleveland was never funny enough on his own, let alone an entire programme...

They cancelled King of the Hill to make room for that show. King of the freak'n Hill. It's like throwing away a dvd of Citizen Kane to make room for a Twilight dvd or throwing away a Led Zeppelin album to make room for a Jonas Brothers cd. What the hell? Sure, Futurama and the Simpsons were on the same channel at the same time and are from the same creators, but those two shows are very different. The Cleveland Show is just milking Family Guy's success.

You know what's funny? The Cleveland Show is actually better than Family Guy. Nowhere near as good as any of the worst episodes of the Simpsons, but better than Family Guy. The humor is a lot less random and doesn't rely on nearly as many fart or sex jokes as Family Guy.

Y'know, I've always had a sneaking suspicion that The Cleveland Show was made to cut into the tyrannical rule of Tyler Perry and his..."comedy". That's why I've never had a problem with it, even though it's still just a fat man with a(n arguably) hot wife, and three children (the youngest of which is abnormally intelligent for their age).

The Cleveland Show is a weak spinoff of Family Guy that I suspect is an attempt by Macfarlane to make fun of black stereotypes by making a show that overlays black stereotypes on top of Family Guy. The only problem is black stereotype jokes are boring and tired. You want to watch a good show about black stereotypes, smart kids, and Sam Jackson? Watch the fucking Boondocks.

The Simpsons actually broke ground, had meaningful morals, coherent plot lines, developed characters.

Family Guy feels like it's written by a 19 year old trying to be edgy by making tons of offensive jokes. And it's destroyed FOX. FOX will suck Seth McFarlane's dick for anything now. They canceled King of the Hill for The Cleavland show, wtf, WTF. And you think it's more then likely that The Simpsons recent decline aside from just being on for 20 years has been it having to be more like family guy until they finally realized it's an asinine idea and started to get their shit back together.

Family Guy has ruined plot lines forever and people's ability to actually pay attention to a show.

In order:
The Simpsons
King of the Hill
Futurama
lots of stuff
Family Guy

Meaningful morals? Also no. Futurama pwns them all.

You haven't watched any Simpsons episode pre 2000 have you? It actually use to be possible to take something away from the show, as someone said before Homer among others despite failing at it would always try to do the right thing.

I'm not a big fan of either, but if I had to choose, Simpsons. While I can sit through an episode of Simpsons, I couldn't even sit through an episode of Family Guy. Mainly because everything would be or remind them of some pop cultural event that's only tangentially related to the storyline, make it go on for more time than it actually deserves, then bring it back to the paper-thin plotline that drives several more references. It's like Seth MacFarlane's was writing sketch comedy then realized halfway through that he was supposed to do a sitcom.

There's a whole fucking book about them, which I happen to own. Its a little windy and grandiose at times, but it wasn't written by morons.

EDIT: now that I look around, there are more than just that one. If you're in any way curious about said morals, give 'em a look. They're pretty interesting.

If you don't care about it, why would you press the point? All I'm saying is that Naronic isn't just making shit up. Other people (who probably know more about philosophy than the two of us combined) have noted and written about these examples. At length.
